Were you thinking of Ron Rezek on Modern Fan Co?
There was a guy on You Tube once that had commented somewhere that he and another guy designed the Fasco ceiling fans. It started with a drawing it on a napkin in Florida, if I remember right. Too bad I can't remember which video it was where the comment was posted. I can't recall their names, seems like he said they designed the Charleston and Worlds Fair and possibly others.
I've talked to a guy who is a Lasko designer and helped design some of the ceiling fans back in the day. He was looking for one of them, I forget which model exactly. But he helped design the Lasko Contemporary I know. Gary Beideman I think was his name.

True, although even with VoIP you can still use the wiring and jacks to backfeed into from the router, like I have here.
My router is supposed to have a battery backup, but it doesn't seem to work. As soon as the power goes off the lines are dead. I suppose I could see if they'll replace the battery pack, but even when it was a new router it didn't work.

I forgot to add, I also have an Atari Flashback 2. Which is a newer version of the 2600, but it has the games built into the ROM chip. It has two joysticks which will fit the old systems or you can use any of the old joysticks with it. I got mine in 2005 for Christmas, which is about when they came out. They have newer versions now though.
I remember seeing Nintendo made a mini NES and SNES about a year or two ago, but they didn't make enough to keep with the demand, so of course they instantly became overpriced collectors items even though they are new.

My keyboard seems to work well, but the mouse cuts out sometimes for some reason. I had a wireless Logitech mouse before that was very basic and it never did that.
I like the wireless ones just because I can move them wherever I like. My desk is a hutch with a keyboard drawer and the tower sits on the floor so cables would have to be really long to reach through the wiring openings in the back of the hutch.
Some of my friends had those mechanical keyboards. They are nice, reminds me of the old keyboards from the 1980s. I had one of the first Macintosh keyboards, very mechanical sounding. It used a telephone handset type jack and coiled cable to plug into the computer. The mouse used a serial type connector.

Very cool fan, I like the big motor and the shape of the blades. Kind of reminds me of the GE 14" box fans.
I recall seeing versions with three brown blades that looked like the ones from their desk fans and a smaller motor. But I like the one you have better.

Went to two estate sales today and two thrift stores. Thrift stores had no fans. One estate sale had a Duracraft 12" desk fan from the 90s but it was being used by the company running it and missing the front guard.

I use a Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse. They use a USB receiver that plugs into my computer. I've had them maybe two years and the battery life seems to be really good. The keyboard has play, pause and volume controls. It also has a CD eject button but it doesn't seem to do anything. The mouse has the fast/slow scroll and back/forward side buttons which I really like.
The only thing I don't like about this set is the mouse tends to stop working but if I move it closer to the receiver it starts working. Not sure why.
Also the keyboard has a power button but it doesn't do anything. One of my old keyboards had a power button as well, but it just shut down the computer. I've never seen a Windows machine that would do a hard start from the keyboard button. My old Mac Performas did though. With my Performa all in one the only way to start it was with the keyboard button. The was a switch on the back but it only turned on/off the main power. We always turned it off because sometimes my cat would jump on the desk and step on the keys and the computer would start. I remember one time I woke up and it was on because of that. lol My other Mac that wasn't an all in one didn't have a main power on/off it just had a button on the back to start it like the keyboard had.
Anyway, the reason I got a wireless set is I have a keyboard drawer and the cables were too short to reach the computer so often they would short out.

I wanted to ask, is it normal for these fans to have such a fast start up and long spin down? I was surprised, I've never had a Duracraft that seemed to have as good of bearings as this one, even ones I got new in the 90s. Most of their C frames start sluggish and slow down fast even if I oiled them. I suppose this one could have been oiled but I doubt it. But I would have expected gummy bearings by now.

I got this on eBay recently for $8. I had wanted one back when CVS still sold these but I didn't want to pay $17.99 or whatever they wanted for them.
Anyway, this is the slate model, which is my favorite color scheme for these. It's a sort of a dark navy blue, with slightly translucent blades that are a light gray color with silver speckles if you look closely at them. Very nice looking fans, IMO. This was made in September 2007 according to the UL sticker, and the box is dated 2007, which goes along with when I remember seeing these. I think I last saw these around 2010 or so in CVS.

That's in great condition! I like the color scheme that it has too.

I got out my Lakewood 223 fan which I usually have under the bed and running it this week. So I was wondering which box fan you like best for air movement, for metal or plastic blades.
For my 223, which has the 3rd gen, banana blades, it's really quiet on low but it doesn't move much air at all on that speed, and a little more on medium and high but it's louder. For that I think my S-223 with the first gen blades is better at air movement but a little louder. My GE W-25 with the plastic blades has the best air movement though on each speed, if it's a little louder than both Lakewoods. But the low on the W-25 is more like medium on my 223 as far as noise level but it moves a lot more air. And of course it has metal grilles and a venturi which helps too with the air movement.
I also have a 12" Wizard by Lasko which has the first gen plastic 5 wing blade, and I'd say it's about the same as a three speed 12" Zero box fan as far as the air movement. I think the Zero may be a bit quieter than the Lasko though.
