I agree about everything stencil.
Is there no other light kit that goes with those brass spotlight fixtures?

Well nothing else I had would have been allowed to stay on it even though I think it would have looked good with a typical 5 light kit, father wanted spotlights so he gets them even if its not my first pick.

It's the designs on the side of the housing that clash with the spotlight kit. Maybe you could make a more modern Emperor? With a different housing?

Ah okay now I see how it could be in conflict, I have few thoughts on what to do to cover up the current pattern in the middle of the each of the 'panels'.

If you like it as is, then leave it!

Yeah Ill leave it as is for now, it looks nice enough, and does fit the room well.
And I'm sure the hum was dirty power, the panama i put in place of the emperor at the church now has a hum, it did not at home when testing, odd.

It could also be the mounting.
I'm trying to figure out how differences in AC power could cause noise in a stack motor fan with no solid state speed control.
Have you measured the voltage in both places?

It could also be the mounting. maybe, but incidental mounting brackets on both fans I'm trying to figure out how differences in AC power could cause noise in a stack motor fan with no solid state speed control. thinking the church power has noise so it's not a clean sign wave effectively making it more like if it was on a soild state control, it sounds more like the noise i get when running one off a generator Have you measured the voltage in both places? I should do that

Not the bracket. The ceiling structure, etc.
Is it a buzz or a 60hz hum?
If the church power is a higher voltage, that could also cause it to hum. Some places here I measure closer to 125vAC. Some are closer to 118vAC.

I take it someone before you replaced one of the blenderfans and the Fasco with Litex/Harbor Breezes? I think I would have liked the original fans best!
I would definitely put the Originals on longer downrods and put something that's not huggers over the pulpit . . .

Yeah at lest I was able to save the Charelston, and i did find the blender that got replaced, it become the 'brass' one i have, it was real mess, one end bell was bad but the local motor shop had an Emerson end bell from a condenser fan, in theirs boxes of parts so i was able to get ti to run again. I would definitely put the Originals on longer downrods and put something that's not huggers over the pulpit . . . A pair of white Bayports would have looked better if they had had them at either lowes or homedepot when the current set of fans were added the pastor (my father no less) wanted 4 blade or 6 blade fans, no 5s he was the one that got the lakeside to replace the Charleston I don't remember why we replaced the Charleston, and yeah the originals could have used some say 18-24in down rods....... but the blenders were up that high too. I wonder who actually cares about spindown? I started doing it because someone on YouTube asked for it, but I dont remember who. doesn't hurt to do it, I find it a bit amusing that the low profiles take longer to spin down than the A model originals and that the right low profile takes longer to stop than the left one. because with the slimlines the right one was the one to stop first. but with the blenders like with the originals the front was the weaker one. with the original fans stop order was, right nutone, left nutone, Charleston, front blender, back blender, even when the back blender was replaced with the NewOrleans, that was still the last fan to stop.

I take it your dad wasnt originally the pastor, and took the job after some the fans were already replaced?
Otherwise I'd think you would have been involved with the fans from the start!

Otherwise I'd think you would have been involved with the fans from the start! he was back then, but the replacement of the blender fan was done in the mid 90's (yeah it sat in storage for 15 years before I was able to fix it) as for the lakeside, I wasnt the one that picked that one out to replace the Charleston, I think it was mom that picked that one out, I picked the other fans though and I dont remeber why we even replaced the charston in the first place think it was just to have all new fans we probably should have just put another original in there, keep in mind most of the replacements were in the summer of 2006, I had not yet joined these boards then I only found out about them a little bit before then.
