Casablanca Panama with the new design and XLP-2000 motors!? I did not know this combination existed. They are from 2015-2016 or even newer? The description mentions a direct drive motor. Yeah. they made an XLP-2000 version of the new Panama for the first few years. It was only available with the remote control with four speeds, reverse and light dimming, that could be mounted in a wall box. Not sure how long they were made. but around 2014-2016. I know by 2017 they were being discontinued. I have one and the motor is dated from 9-2014. The description was probably copied from one of the current spinner motor models, but the fan itself does have an XLP motor. The blades on mine are the same and are dated from 2017.

They are rust buckets if you live in the salt belt, drivetrain wise they are carry-overs from 2005-2007. 2012+ Foci are great if you get a manual one. It’s strange I’ve never had an interest in the focus however I’ve always been interested in the Taurus especially the rebadged Five Hundred ones which were especially ugly in my opinion yet I’m intrigued by them. I think Ford made a huge mistake discontinuing the Focus, even if not extremely profitable to get people in the door to start in the Ford Family. I liked the Ford Five Hundred/Taurus and Mercury Montego/Sable rebadge for some reason. I think the Taurus/Sable rebadged was better looking of the two. I always called them round roof cars because how the roof and rear windows were shaped. I really liked the rear quarter windows which were reminiscent of the 80s and 90s models as well as the later ones. I heard the reason they changed the Five Hundred/Montego back to Taurus/Sable was because most people didn't recognize the name, so they thought it was sell better with a familiar name. My aunt had a 1996 Taurus and my grandparents had a 1999. I have a lot of memories of my grandparents' 1999 and my grandpa actually kept it about 5 years which was a long time for him to keep a car. LOL As a kid those were probably my favorite car, I really liked the oval theme as well as the round headlights they had. The later 2000-2007 models were nice too but I preferred the earlier 1996-2000. One time I went through old pictures and I saw some of my other aunt and uncle when they came to visit once, not sure I was even born. But in the picture was a Mercury Sable, the first gen from the 1980s or early 1990s. So maybe my other aunt and uncle owned one too I'm guessing. I really like my 2016 Ford Taurus, but sometimes I wish I had gotten one of those earlier Five Hundred rebadged ones. They were pretty nice and you could even get them with Sync. But I don't see a lot of them for sale. Plus if there's anything I really, really like on my car it's the backup camera and reverse sensors with the cross-traffic warning on my Taurus. Only thing I don't like is sometimes it feels like you're driving a bloated whale and relying on sensors to tell you what's going on with blind spots, etc. It's like who needs all that, just pay attention. LOL My little old Malibu felt like it was more connected to what was going on around you when driving which I liked better. It also got better gas mileage with the 3.4 V6. My V6 Taurus even with VVT I can only get the average MPG up to around 24.1 if I really try, and I get around 30 on the highway. Which a lot of trucks and vans now can do that these days, but I guess it's just a heavy car. My old Malibu was rated 29 on the highway but I think it probably got around 28-30 overall it seemed.

Home Depot and Lowes sell Westinghouse brand blade arms in a 5 pack that I think would fit. But like Noah said, make sure they fit. I would just buy them and return if they don't fit. Those will fit, but Lainie would have to use the whole pack of blade arms because the ones original to the fan are way longer. The fan might not move as much air because of how close the blades will be to the ceiling. True, I hadn't thought about hugger arms usually being longer for more air flow. Places like ceilingfanparts.com has some hugger arms but they run around $25 for 5. The regular ones at Home Depot run around $12-15 if I remember correctly.

Were the 2nd gen Ford Focus (2008-2011) good? I always liked the looks of this gen, the sedan especially reminds me of the Volvo S40 sedan and from my understanding there were some design similarities in the chassis between the two. Another thing I liked about them was you could get the ambient lighting and Sync on some models as well as heated leather seats.
I know the newer 2012+ Focuses tend to have transmission issues. A friend of mine has a hatchback (I think a 2017) although I haven't heard of them having any issues with it. Before that they had a 07 VW Golf GTI and that car had a lot of issues, it was a great looking car but unreliable unfortunately.
On the 2008-11 Focus my understanding was most countries got a newer model while the US model was more similar to the 2000-2007 generation but just new sheetmetal. I could be wrong on that though.

I don't, but if the bathroom is damp maybe a small outdoor fan. Or if not, maybe a 32" Supra would work well. Particularly if this is a bathroom with a shower, I would definitely put in a new exhaust fan though, a ceiling fan isn't going to take steam or odors outside.

I was looking around in the garage for something and I found the material you put under mulch in the flower beds. It sounds strange, but I think it will work for this. It's a thin fabric with a pattern to it, that looks pretty close to what Casablanca has used on some other fans.
I've gotten the housing parts all washed down, polished with #7 polish and car waxed, so it looks pretty good. I am going to have to do something about the sideband because it was rusty along the edges and the paint is chipping off. I'm thinking I might find something to cover it with before putting back together. My painting skills aren't the greatest and it might not match if I try to redo it. The rest looks great.
Also I got the motor wiped down and blew out the windings. Tomorrow I'm planning to get new screws and nuts at the hardware store.

So I'm cleaning up that 96 white Casablanca Delta II I have. I'm gonna have to replace all of the housing hardware because it was totally rusted. Fortunately the paint and K55 are fine with no damage. But it has nicotene stains so I'm washing it with a spray and the garden hose. I managed to remove the foam in the vents in one piece but it's just nasty and I'd rather replace it than clean it. Does anyone know what this stuff is called or where to find it? It looks similar to what you see in the exhaust of a vacuum cleaner.

As a kid I always liked the compact trucks. We used to have a green Nissan King Cab truck with the 4cyl and 5 speed. I really liked that truck. The back area had jump seats below the side windows that were gray vinyl and pulled down from the wall. You sat sideways and there were lap belts that hung on hooks below the rear window. The rear window could slide open manually. The side windows which popped open were cool because the glass was curved at the top and you could see out the top where it met the roof. We usually didn't use the rear seats but did sometimes on trips to Home Depot. I miss that truck sometimes.
My grandfather had the same model Nissan, but a 1993 in red. He didn't keep it long, he bought different cars like every year LOL but I remember riding in the back one time. Then he had a 1994 Dodge Dakota in hunter green with a camper top, but that one was a regular cab. I don't think he kept it long either, because I don't remember riding in that one, but I do have pictures with it in them.
Later my grandfather got a 2002 or 03-ish Ford Ranger XLT extended cab truck, in gold with beige interior. The rear seats in that one were different, I think they stored under the rear window, and you folded them down and then the seatback folded up against the side window. Still had to sit sideways. I rode in that truck too once.
Now it seems like only Nissan really makes the true compact trucks anymore, in the Frontier series. With Ford discontinuing the old style Ranger and GM the S10/Sonoma. And I think Toyota's trucks have gotten bigger over the years and Mazda and Isuzu don't make them anymore. Mitsubishi used to sell the Dakota rebadged ones I recall.

Very cool installs. I like the weird corner Nadair spinner install, the dual Casablancas, and the Casablanca/Nadair dual Spirit of Saturn installs especially.

Now I've noticed there are a couple different sellers with old stock Panama II fans on eBay in white, weathered copper, etc. But still very expensive.

I have a white Casablanca Delta II I got on eBay a year or two ago. Can't figure out the date but something tells me it's a 1996. It's in ok shape but must have been in a damp environment, because there is rusting on the hardware. Motor housing nuts have surface rust, rust on reverse switch frame, corroded pull chain switch nut, etc. There is also some slight bubbling in the paint where the sideband goes into the top and lower housing. It's not enough to repaint I don't think and my painting skills aren't great. I'd just like to minimize it if possible. It may not even be visible when the fan is hanging and not up close.
Any ideas on cleaning this up? Should I just replace the nuts, etc? Take apart the housing and give a good cleaning and polish/wax?
Blades (glossy white) finish also have some chipping around the sides of the blades. The foam inserts in the vents on the top and bottom of the motor are also dirty and brown and smell. Can the sponge like material be removed and wash or will it fall apart?
Thanks.

Last night I saw a box for a new Harbor Breeze ceiling fan at a driveway down the street. I could tell there was a fan inside, but wasn't sure what. So I just brought the box home thinking if it was junk I could throw it in my own dumper.
Anyway inside is a 42" hugger in antique brass with filigree and hugger vents. Four cane blades and three light kit with the glass panel style shades. I think I saw 1984 and made in Taiwan on the motor. The motor itself seems a decent size and looked to have no vents, black. I'll take a closer look when I get a chance.
When I saw it was all there with the shades, bracket and all I figured it was worth saving. Hopefully it works. It isn't really my style, but it is cute, and vintage. I may take it to Habitat when they reopen. At least I saved the poor thing from the dump. LOL
