So I'm cleaning up that 96 white Casablanca Delta II I have. I'm gonna have to replace all of the housing hardware because it was totally rusted. Fortunately the paint and K55 are fine with no damage. But it has nicotene stains so I'm washing it with a spray and the garden hose. I managed to remove the foam in the vents in one piece but it's just nasty and I'd rather replace it than clean it. Does anyone know what this stuff is called or where to find it? It looks similar to what you see in the exhaust of a vacuum cleaner.

I was looking around in the garage for something and I found the material you put under mulch in the flower beds. It sounds strange, but I think it will work for this. It's a thin fabric with a pattern to it, that looks pretty close to what Casablanca has used on some other fans.
I've gotten the housing parts all washed down, polished with #7 polish and car waxed, so it looks pretty good. I am going to have to do something about the sideband because it was rusty along the edges and the paint is chipping off. I'm thinking I might find something to cover it with before putting back together. My painting skills aren't the greatest and it might not match if I try to redo it. The rest looks great.
Also I got the motor wiped down and blew out the windings. Tomorrow I'm planning to get new screws and nuts at the hardware store.

Well I finally got around to this project. LOL I got the new vent screen glued into place.
I was trying to figure out how to redo the sideband where it's rusty without having to paint. I found some glossy plastic sheet material that's flexible. I think it will match since it's snow white, and I can just glue it over the sideband and match up the seams and it shouldn't be noticeable.
Hopefully this weekend I'm going with my Dad to get new screws and hardware as I haven't been able to find the correct sizes. So the project is coming along.
