I have a white Casablanca Delta II I got on eBay a year or two ago. Can't figure out the date but something tells me it's a 1996. It's in ok shape but must have been in a damp environment, because there is rusting on the hardware. Motor housing nuts have surface rust, rust on reverse switch frame, corroded pull chain switch nut, etc. There is also some slight bubbling in the paint where the sideband goes into the top and lower housing. It's not enough to repaint I don't think and my painting skills aren't great. I'd just like to minimize it if possible. It may not even be visible when the fan is hanging and not up close.
Any ideas on cleaning this up? Should I just replace the nuts, etc? Take apart the housing and give a good cleaning and polish/wax?
Blades (glossy white) finish also have some chipping around the sides of the blades. The foam inserts in the vents on the top and bottom of the motor are also dirty and brown and smell. Can the sponge like material be removed and wash or will it fall apart?
Thanks.
