Sorry to bump this thread. Did anyone ever see a fan with a big tulip light for single globe?

I believe I've seen it before.
Bumping is fine if you have something new to contribute.

Ok then. I have never seen a fan with a tulip light kit in the middle it's mostly the schoolhouse lights or the round globes.

What is a "tulip light"? If it's what I think it is, then yes, Casablanca offered single-center tulip lights. UGLY AS SIN, in my opinion. And I have a Lasko TOC with a 5-light kit which has 4 regular loop arms but a tulip light in the center where a globe would be in a normal 5-light kit. Here are some photos Brian took of a Casa catalog, showing the tulip lights:

Oh I see. I personally think they look better on a five light kit not on a single light.

Yeah its a little odd looking. On these pictures of the Four Season showing them with light kits they have a lot of problems of proportion. The four arm tulip fitter is beautiful but way too big for that fan. The center tulip and that oval globe are just too small for the fan size they show in the picture. The only one that looks OK is the one showed with a mushroom globe.(extremely ugly finish tough)
Those are nice looking shades at the bottom page. They even have Holophane shades! These are rare, especially on ceiling fans. My favorite side shade is the classic tulip at the top and for globes its the schoolhouse.
Does the Four Season was made in 38''/48''? From what year is this catalog?

Good point, Jean! Why did they put the large lights on the smaller fans, and vice versa?
Those were the two sizes it came in, 38" and 48".

Does anyone like the fan that comes with a light kit or just buy a light kit seprately? I personally like buying the light kit you can choose which one would go best with your fan. Bumping this thread here.

It depends on the fan, Hunters I like when they come with one because its like when you buy an Integrated Hunter light thats like $50 when a whole Hunter fan could be $90.
But I do like the versatility when you can buy a fan. I do hate how much Casablanca lights cost (Ex. K4S)

In general, my favorite light kits are plain schoolhouse globes, and five light kits (4 tulip shades surrounding a single globe). I also love those early 80s three-light kits common on Sears/Emerson fans. What light looks best on a ge vent fan.I personally like the 5 light or 4 light kit on them. What do you all think? Depends what kind of GE-vent fan. If it's an older one with 4 wide blades, then I'd say a single generic schoolhouse globe...if it's a five blader (especially with cane ), then I'd say a 5 light kit - 4 tulip shades surrounding a single round globe. ;D
