What is the best light kit to use on a ceiling fan? I personally prefer the 4 or 5 lights to make the fan look a bit fancy and those are my favorites. The school house lights work on certain fans like the empror or maybe the spinner fans. Those aren't my faves though. What is your opninons?

It depends on the size and look of the fan. For a spinner I would go more with a single fitter(schoolhouse). For a Hunter Original also a single fitter. For a small fan more a single fitter too. For a mid size Stationary housing ceiling fan usually 3 turtle lights fitter(tulips). For a larger fan 52''+ I would go for 4 or 5 lights. The 5 lights fitter(one in the middle and 4 on the sides) are beautiful but you have to match them with a more Traditional or Victorian fan not a contemporary fan, and particularly more a brass fan.(PB or AB) Usually the larger the fan is the more lights you can put on it and it would look great. For example there a SMC Laguna 36'' on Caraglist with a large 4 long arm tulip fitter. It looks horrible. The light kit is almost as big as the fan. And plus the Thing with spinners fan is that they have a small housing that why they looks much better with just a single fitter. Also when you have a switch housing like that: Narrow switch housing: single fitter Chunkier/Regular switch housing: 3,4 or 5 lights fitter They looks better with these fitters. Yes Canarm have already made a white 30'' 5 blades chunky Ge vents fan. But they discontinued it not a long time ago.

That's true. For the Traditional fans I would use the four or five lights for them and they look much better, too. 3 lights that would fit on a 42 or even a 30 inch fan as well and some of those fans do look good with a single light.

Really you all do? But still I think it looks cute on the 5 blade and 4 bladed orginals.

Really? What about 5 light kits on Empror fans? I had one of those fans with a 5 light kit on my parents put on instead of the schoolhouse light.
