Here is a pic of my California Zephyr (Yes, it is the exact one) with the full-size 3-light kit. My uncle never gave me the tacky light shown in the pic, so I'm on the hunt for either an AB Casa swithcap or the small Casa 4-arm fitter, as mentioned before. Once I get one of the aforementioned items, I will finally be able to hang it in my room. It is hanging in my aunt & uncle's kitchen before they redid it. They have a nickel Ventura with no light there now. Wow, I have never seen that combination in antique brass before. I would keep it as-is.

That's a very nice fan, indeed. And the light kit looks great, too.

Plus most Ge Vent fans look awesome in 4 or 5 lights than a schoolhouse light kit because it makes the fan look more fancy instead of plain looking with one light IMHO. What do you all think?

did your uncle use the tacky light kit on his other or newer fan? No, he did not.

for 3 light kits I personally think they work on some fans mostly the 6 blade 30 inch, some huggers have 3 lights but they look better with 4 or 5 lights. The clusters are for smaller fans or spinners.

Wait a second, does this footprint Litex have a flywheel? K55? Have we discussed it before? You seem to be finding a lot of builders with cadillac engines!

Wow, Shafarah, a thread you started has blossomed into three pages within a day or so. I'm proud of you. I agree with most of what JW said: On any all-brown fan, a single looks best by far - whether a schoolhouse or globe is used is not important. If it has any brass on it at all, a four- or five-light kit is acceptable as long as it matches the brass. In my opinion, there's nothing more Texan than a large restaurant, dance hall, church, or otherwise, full of brown fans with bright single lights... want proof, head down to Gruene Hall in New Braunfels (also home of Schlitterbahn, the number one rated waterpark in the world, which also sports some ridiculously cool fans if you look hard enough). For 52" fans in AB or PB - 5 lights if in the living room, 4 anywhere else (including restaurants). A single would work in a bedroom. For a white fan, it really depends on the fan and the location, but I would never put a 5-lighter on it (if it also had bright brass, it might be acceptable). Any fan 42" or smaller should use a single or a cluster, i.e. the shades attach directly to sockets on the switch housing. There are rare occasions where a full-size 4-lighter will work. I prefer single lights in bedrooms, 4 or 5 lights in kitchens and dining rooms. Unlike JW I actually like the 3 arm tulip kit, but only on certain, very vintage fans. In most cases I prefer fans without light kits at all. Certain fans look better with certain kits regardless of locations, for example, Nutone Verandas (friciton drive) need a schoolhouse globe. Casablanca Victorians need a 5 light kit. And so on. No Dan I would not recommended a single light kit for a bedroom. I had one on my Encon Princess and its generate a too bright light and depressing looking for a bedroom. For a bedroom I would recommend more 3 or 4 lights. Spot lights kits are also good in bedrooms. These light kits generate light more all around and more intimate. Single lights generate a lot of light a the same place. They are better for a kitchen. 5 lights kits works really well in dining rooms.

That's true Jean. 5 lights do look better in dining room. I have a couple of Litex huggers with one light in my room upstairs they work well for a small fan.

Here's a pic of my uncle's Panama with a schoolhouse light: After he upgraded it in 2002:

What kind of camera did you use? It's really blurry... About the Panama, I don't like the look of the globe. It doesn't match with the fan. The spotlight kits would look better if they were aligned. I think traditional-looking Casablancas look best without a light kit or with something like this: or Victorians NEED:
