I have a similar AB fan, but it has the small double claw style canopy. Has the flat cap on the bottom instead of a nut and is reversible, don't know if that matters to you. Bearings are BAD, and I mean bad. Don't know if you'd want it, just thought I'd throw it out there. Ah, here it is!

I am looking for the version with the flat cap.
Bring the motor with when you come, unless you'd rather ship it. We can try swapping it out.
I was hoping you could have come this week and helped me with this install! It was time consuming.
When the church gets more money we're going to put chandeliers and recessed lights in the room with the Gold Lines.

I'm trying to figure out when we repainted the sanctuary and foyer. They're no longer gold and purple, now they're cream and gold.
Someone asked me why the floor and ceiling in the banquet room are painted black. I'm not sure. My pastor did that, presumably to create "ambience", when I initially refused to install lighting.
Also you'll notice a lot of the strip lights dont have bulbs. A number of them have bad ballasts. I took the bulbs out of the bad ones, and a few of the good ones to make it look like it was on purpose. Originally it was one bulb left per fixture, now it's back to two.

Wow, those spinners look great there, Dan! I love how they are similar, but they each have a slightly different look. I bet it's pretty windy in there when they're all on high! ;D

Here are two things I'm am debating. Let me know what you think
Should I replace the Design Houses with something cooler? If so, what? I'd need to have a matched set. And they would need to be something that's either hard to destroy or I wouldnt cry if they destroy. Granted, these fans have been up for ~5 years and nothing has happened to them other than dirt.
Should I replace the fluorescent striplights in the banquet room with the 4x8 fixtures, like in the rest of the church? Does it not matter? Or do the striplights actually look cooler with the old fans?

I'd leave the strip lights; I think they compliment the old fans pretty well.

So far that's one vote to replace the lights, one vote to keep them!

That's a cool mixture of vintage spinners you installed there Dan. Glad to see your using 4-speed quiet sliders. I love theses controls. I bought one last summer(branded Westinghouse) from Budget Lighting and I love it. They make fans very quiet like controls they sell in home centers but with an additional speed.
I noticed you marked on the switch plates for what speed they should be on. Hehe! ;D
How does your switches goes? Interesting set up you got there. I suppose the sliders controls one fan at a time cause those are usually designed for only one fan per control. The white rotative knob and the on/off switch is for the lights or fans too? And how many fans are on the big Solid State control?

Good question.
The fan (slider) controls are wired two fans to each control. The top control is for the two cane fans. The left control is for the one Miami Carrey and the Union. The right control is for the other Miami Carrey and the Golden Fan. The white dimmer is for the chandelier. The single light switch is for the rope lights (my pastor wants me to replace it with a dimmer). The large 2000w dimmer is for all the fan lights. The fluorescent lights are controlled elsewhere.

Cool! That's a nice set up! Very well organized. So those 4-speed sliders can take more than one fan per control? I know there's some 3-speed models that are designed to have more than one fan per control. Is that what those are?

I know there's some 3-speed models that are designed to have more than one fan per control. Is that what those are? As long as the amperage is below what the control is rated for (often 1.5), you can put as many fans on one control as you want. Those spinners, however, are usually about 1.2 amps give or take, so I will let Dan chime in on what this application uses.

When you overload these controls, they wont burn up or overheat. The fan will simply not start on low.
You can attach as many fans to a capacitor based control as you like, so long as the fans still run on the control's lowest speed. Usually the maximum is two.
Capacitor controls designed for more than one fan, or designed for higher powered fans like Originals or Blenderfans, simply use higher value (microfarad) capacitors.

To answer Jean's question, these 4 speed controls are designed for one fan each, but they're also designed for higher power fans (Gold Lines, possibly. I bought them from an Envirofan distributor). I've found they work well for two "normal" fans.

Still working on the church, once again in the community center portion (the santuary, and foyer leading into the sanctuary, are done AFAIK). I decided to leave the striplights in the banquet room for now-- with them off, and the fan lights on, you cannot see them unless you are looking for them. We do need bright, boring fluorescent lights for cleaning (etc) and the striplights serve this purpose. And if I took them down, the spacing of the fans (which was planned around the striplights) might look off, and then I'd have to move the fans. This happened with the Gold Lines. Lastly, they look appropriate with the various spinners. More retro than the recessed 2x4 fixtures. So they stay for the time being. HOWEVER there were still 5 striplights in other portions of the building. Two being used-- one in the entry to the building, which opens into the room with the Gold Lines. And one in the hall/entry to the banquet room/where the bathrooms are. There was also a row of three in the Gold Lines room NOT being used, for some reason no one took them down. The row of three you can see in previous pictures. I dont have any pictures of the one in the hall. Here is the one in the entry: Now I think we can all agree it is silly to have ugly light fixtures installed when we have beautiful ceiling fans with lights. SO, in addition to removing all 5 striplights, I replaced the two that were being used with fans. Here is the one in the entry: Here is the one in the hall leading into the banquet room: Here are some pictures of outside, you can see the entry fan and one of the Gold Lines: In the coming few weeks I'm going to add some alternative lighting to the Gold Lines room. I'll post pictures when I do. Other than that, this project is largely complete. While I am UNLIKELY to change/move/switch/etc any fans or lights, I am open to suggestions. If you come up with a really cool suggestion that doesnt cost money I just may do it! Especially if it uses fans/lights/parts I already own. For the record, here are things I already considered: 1. A similar white spinner with light in the hall, in place of the PB/cane 2. The following fans in the entry instead of the Parlour: -36" White Plastic Emerson -38" White Sears Spinner -36" White/Brass Progress Lighting -38" White Casablanca Four Seasons -36" White/Brass Hunter Comfort Breeze 3. Fans with lights instead of the Gold Lines It's awesome having a large, multi-room commercial space, that you can do whatever you want to with fans! The only downside is that they might get damaged and they WILL get worn and dirty.

I LOVE the FASCO, just hope it doesn't ever get damaged, but in a location like that I don't see a whole lot going on that would be a major risk. The spinner is okay, I don't like 5-light kits much on spinners, but when you need the light you can't compromise too much on that.
