Good eye, these are actually labeled Banvil Envirofan. In the mid-80s they were all labeled this way, before the split I suppose. Not current whats? The ones with the Evergo motor would be similar to the original Envirofans with the bell canopy. These, with the plunger canopy, move slightly more air. It came down when we did the second set of renovations. First set: new lights in sanctuary, expanded foyer into lobby by removing walls/offices. No new fans added, it was kind of weird with the Nutone where the Homestead is now and no other fan in the big space. Second set: expanded sanctuary by removing walls/offices, new choirstand, new stage, new carpet on stage, choirstand, and lobby. New lights and fans in lobby and choirstand. This is when I replaced the Nutone with the Homestead and added the Minka. The Minka and Homestead share a 4 speed control mounted at the front next to the windows. It is the same place the Nutone control was. Who every said that fluorescent gives a nice pleasant light!? Can lights would be much better. (on dimmer switch to be green) Indirect fluorescent light can be pleasant, but these striplights with no shades are way too harsh. I would love to install fluorescent uplights but that would cost too much. Plus we do need dimmability. I plan to install some can lights-- maybe 8-10? And then either keep a few strips or install some recessed fluorescent lights for when we need to clean, etc. I also need to put the fans on a control. Actually I call Gold Lines Banvils all the time as I'm more familiar with the name Banvil instead of Envirofans, I could not have read what's on the lower canopy. ;D I meant I don't really like the current Gold Lines. I don't like how the blades are skinny compare the old ones and the blades are not as curved. I love the curve on the old ones, they looks a lot like SMC's curved blades. Yeah uplight fluorescent are not too bad and kinda look cool. In my High school they have some in the library. The white square in the middle is uplight and the sides too. (even though more than the half of the tubes on the sides are burned out. Here's the whole thread about the fluorecent light in my High School: ada19851985.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=lightfixtures&action=display&thread=3357

Actually I call Gold Lines Banvils all the time as I'm more familiar with the name Banvil instead of Envirofans, I could not have read what's on the lower canopy. ;D Even when they were the same company, Banvil was the name in Canada, Envirofan in the US, but all the fans were labeled "Banvil Envirofan". Banvil was named after the founder, Al Bahnman. I meant I don't really like the current Gold Lines. I don't like how the blades are skinny compare the old ones and the blades are not as curved. I love the curve on the old ones, they looks a lot like SMC's curved blades. The current Gold Lines are really very very similar to the old ones. The blades are only SLIGHTLY skinnier but they are less curved. However the 60" blades are just as curved. Yeah uplight fluorescent are not too bad and kinda look cool. In my High school they have some in the library. The white square in the middle is uplight and the sides too. (even though more than the half of the tubes on the sides are burned out. You see uplights a lot in libraries cause the light is softer.

Since I last updated this thread, we've done some minor repairs to the front room of the community center. There is a lot more to come. I'm probably going to install some recessed lights, like the sanctuary, and or decorative lights. For a period of time, the center Gold Line was removed and a chandelier installed in it's place. I have since reinstalled the fan as the chandelier was needed elsewhere. Methinks that another chandelier will mysteriously appear.

That is a SWEET install. Shame that if you guys rent it out that the fans will likely get torn up. Have you considered making that part of the rental agreement that no objects get attached to the fans?

Looks great, and that CG is very interesting. Quite a mishmash of fans there, but you hardly notice, they're all spinners with similar lights, so I say well done.

I dont know if our rentals are that formal. We're significantly cheaper and less formal than other similar places-- keeps our overhead down. Everything we get from rentals goes right back in the church. I deliberately picked fans that were hard to destroy and very generic glass. The worst thing I see happening is streamers and balloons.
I like the mismatch of fans. Originally my desire was to have all brown fans with 4 arm light kits, but I realized I didnt have enough brown fans that could take lights. I found the Golden Fan and thought it made a really cool "oddball" but I needed one more. The AB fan was picked because I had the light to match it.
Speaking of the AB fan, I tried an 8.5 capacitor in it today instead of the stock 7.5. It still stalls out on low. It must be a bad spot in the rotor. Not repairable. Guys, please keep an eye out for a fan like this for me! I'd love to replace it with the same one.

Looks good, Dan! I'm sure they appreciate all of the work you're doing.
I like those 4-speed slider controls. I also like that NuTone solid state control. If I ever get a Gold Line, I think I'll order a solid state control to go with it.

The Nutone Solid State control came out of my parents old church. They originally had three 56" brown Prolines (the original version) in the sanctuary. When they remodeled for the first time they removed the fans and left the control. With their second remodel they removed the control and put it four brown Dayton Marleys.
Jeremy if I can find a replacement for the AB Evergo then you can have it.
