Great sightings Jean, and I hope you had a blast of a time in France. Thanks. Yes I had a very good time. I went also in June so if you look at page 52 they are also sightings from there on that page.

Some Marellis, like the one I acquired last December, were made in Champagne-Ardenne, France. I used to think that the housing on the Elge would spin with the blades but apparently it's not the case. Yes I'm sure the 120 cm one with the blades curved up would move air. It would distribute the air further away and not create a breeze directly under the fan.

Jardin Tiki, that was in July. Yes it was a very cool 1980's style polynesian restaurant. It had been used as a filming location in movies and tv series in the 1990's and 2000's.

I've never seen those UFO TATs with metal blades... Quite odd.. Those style motors are used in Moss WF series ceiling fans..

I've never seen those UFO TATs with metal blades... Quite odd.. Those style motors are used in Moss WF series ceiling fans.. They are not that rare, they have been posted before. Yes it's the same motor as on the Moss WF Series and this TAT model usually comes with a 5-speed control that says Kando on it. The capacitor inside my Moss WF Series also says Kando so they are linked. They are all made in Hong Kong.

Hard to say what my favorite fan would be,, there's quite a few unique ones.. The 90CM Elge is really neat.. Also quite like the unknown GE vent in Pas-de-Calais as well as the GE vent in Boulogne-sur-Mer..

Merci beaucoup! Jean, you have done it again...provided us with an outstanding array of sightings (the majority of them far too spectacular for words). I am thoroughly impressed, however that is certainly not anything of out the ordinary with your excellent content
Now moving to the other side of the Atlantic, here for my sightings from France (230 volts 50 Hz). Ah, that iconic 50-cycle hum In an Australian restaurant in Boulogne-sur-Mer in the Pas-de-Calais about three TAT 120 cm with three metal contoured blades. They are pretty common. These ones were painted in orange and brown colours to match the restaurant aboriginal theme. We can't see it well because those pictures are taken at contre jourly. Were these decently painted? A tobacco store in Arras, Pas-de-Calais has this unknown antique brass GE vent 132 cm. Hmm...this features characteristics found on various fans, making the process of identification rather difficult. In Paris, IDF: A chrome Inspire Dailan 120 cm in a fast food restaurant in the 8th arrondissement. Chrome - need I say more This is probably my most special sightings. Two 1950's, early 1960's Elge in a retro style diner. One of each size all complete with the bottom plates. 90 cm 120 cm with the blades well curved up. Very cool! I wonder how the upward curve actually effects airflow... Brasserie Julien in the 10th arrondissement has a classic early 20th century Art Nouveau decor with a beautiful ceiling with stained glass and two mid to late 1980's Xpelair Whispair 104 cm. It's nice to finally see some in real after only seeing them in a movie. No. 1 No. 2 What a stunning setting! A chrome S&P HTB 90 cm in a café near Montmartre. The blades are installed on the wrong side. Another case of failing to glance at a box picture... A fan spinning in a Subway restaurant. Some Subways restaurants in France have some Regencies but this one doesn't appear to be a Regency. Anybody know what is this? I have no idea. As with North American builder fans, this is extremely generic. In a restaurant in the Marais, two chrome S&P HTB 140 cm spinning fast. The first one taken with flash. The second one without flash. Were the blades bent on fan one? An awesome chrome finish TAT 140 cm in a bar in the Marais. I have no words A classic brasserie on île Saint-Louis has two Westinghouse Industrials 120 cm painted in matte black. This one was off, the other one on low. This would be the current version with the classic contoured blades. The previous version had the blades more specific to Encon/Westinghouse for metal blades fans of 120 cm and under. Is that dust, or was this fan simply painted horribly? Surprise surprise! Another one of those gorgeous restored Eole 140 cm from the 1920's. Some of you probably remember when they were selling them all restored on eBay around 2006-2009. Whoever restored this fan has done a stellar job! A white S&P HTB 140 cm spinning on low in an ice cream bar on île Saint-Louis. I am quite fond of this picture. In a restaurant in île de la Cité I saw one of those La Meridiana fans imitating very badly a Marelli Maestralino. The blades are so skinny. There is no comparison to the original! In the city of Courtrai (Kortrijk in Dutch) in the Flanders region of Belgique, an awesome black and chrome Cinni Bombay in a fine supermarket. Another stunner. Two polished brass CEC Newport 132 cm in a real estate agency. One has longer brackets. I guess this was a late 1980's model. Regular brackets Longer brackets. True classics...

The Cinni is awesome, Definitely one of the best antique/vintage style industrials on the market. I like how it resembles a 1960's-70's USHA. I'd love to buy some of them someday, they also have a wooden blade variant available too.

Max, je suis content que mes photos te plaisent. I also have more sightings pîcture of France and Belgique in June and now I'm about to post the September sightings. Actually I have never noticed much of difference between the 50 and 60 HZ hum except for fans on a variable speed control. For 50 Hz fans the hum is louder, more high pitched, the 60 Hz hum is deeper and not quite as annoying.
Yes the TAT are decently painted.
It's possible that the GE vent in Arras might be a Rhino.
Chrome spinners with metal blades are pretty common in France. I love how this Inspire have a relatively nice thicker rounded motor. In Québec I see a few too but they are more often brushed nickel.
The current S&P boxes of the HTB series don't have much of picture on the box, it's more an inaccurate drawing.
Yes some of the blades a little bit on those chrome S&P HTB.
Those Westinghouses were badly painted.
These Eoles were restored professionally in France and Belgique and resold on eBay as new products around 2006-2008.
The only reproductions of Marellis that are very good and accurate are the ones distributed by Fantique and Aria Ventilatori.

It's made to resemble some of the old GEC and Crompton Parkinson fans from the 1930-1940's. I love the wood blade version and the all brass version. In Australia you are lucky, you don't have to get it from Deckenventilator24. There is a Cinni website especially for Australia.
