Cole remind me what fans you reference. Jean that hardware store fan is very cool! How many do/did they have, and how many were removed? When I went there in 1998 or 1999 they had two ceiling fans. A brown 48'' at the front of the store above the cash and a white 36'' totally at the back corner of the store. I did not saw the brown one but the white 36'' one was still there. I hope I did not ''imagined'' the brown one, its still a long time ago of that. Hahha! So basically there were two fans, one removed and one left. I noticed in Adam's CEC gallery the NIB 48'' Industrial he have show a pic on the box with those same cylinder Fan-Aire canopies even if his uses a flat double claw canopy. LOOK at the second last pic. www.vintageceilingfans.com/gulfcoastfansdinwaielectricalmfg.co.(m)ltdcec48ceilingfan.htmlThe link might not work properly but you know what fan I'm talking about. You can also see the 3 bladed version of that fan in this video. It was shot in Hong Kong in the Chungking Mansions. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vork8vgbmW8&feature=related

Cole remind me what fans you reference. These are the two that were at that Ace hardware, and they were replaced with Envirofan Silver Lines when the place remodeled. It was all in my "Fans from F-M and surrounding areas" thread.

Sounds like weird places for fans! I love seeing fans in seemingly random locations.

So does any of you ever saw this particular 4 curved bladed fan in the USA? I'm pretty sure it was made by Four Seasons Venair or a local company around here. Four Seasons Venair have use that same canopy on some of their straight bladed Industrials and they definitely used that Commander Angel too. Now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure that all of the other 4 curved bladed Industrials I've seen around here in the past were that same fan and not something else like those Fan-Aire fans or something with TAT or Evergo parts like I previously remembered. It just that it was a LONG time that I haven't seen one in person so it was far back in old memories. So that means I've seen some in various size: 36'', 48'' and 56''. Just like the one that Philippe took the pic of. I've also seen very few in brown just like the 48'' one that was supposedly above the cash of that same store. From what I have seen those are particularly common or were common to see in small shops and in churches. The church where my grand-father and grand-mother of my mother side were buried have about 4 of theses in white 56'' on long downrod. Don't ask me to get pics because that church is about 3 hours from here and I haven't been there since 2000 but I'm pretty sure they are still there. If I ever go back there I will bring my camera. That also means that the ones in the small abandoned car repair shop that I mentioned before would not be Fan-Aire like I previously remembered but again theses and IF they are still there I guess the canopies are badly yellowed and they will probably be in bad working condition. I probably did not told you guys about that but when I went to Québec City for the new year(2008-2009 the first pics of this thread) I saw one in a small souvenir/porcelain shop. Also white 36''. I saw it from outside by the window. It was right above the door when you enter the small shop and it was spinning at some kind of low-medium speed so I could not clearly see the blades but they were clearly curved and you could see that they was more than 3 blades. I also saw another one very similar now so long ago in October 2008 when I visited a college. It was white, 56'' with all those same parts(Commander Angel motor, Fan-Aire canopies, plain curved blades) but that one clearly had 3 blades not 4 even if it was on medium speed. BTW the way it was humming loudly so I guess it was on a variable speed control. The one in the hardware store was pretty quiet. Quiet enough to be on a 5-speed or 3-speed control. I wonder what are the original controls for theses. I never saw them.

Just the ones Adam has.
Only four blade industrials I've seen in person are Lasko and Nutone. That I recall.

I like the Subway fans, they look cheap, but I like the design. The spinner is pretty cool too.

Those fans in the Subway could be Crests, or possibly JC Penny?
The industrials look neat.
Its neat that the huggers have reverse pull chains.
The 4 Seasons Venair looks great!
I've seen a "Nadair" before on eBay.
Nice pictures Jean!
