Hey I'm back from Ontario! I saw a lot of fans but not too many old stuff, much more newer fans. I figured in Montréal we still have more older fans. I could not pictured them all as there always too many peoples everywhere and sometimes we are going too fast.
At Boston Pizza have some glossy black builder. Yes they appears to have the reverse pull chain. I toughed that Boston Pizza were brand new restaurants.
In Toronto, the first B&B we went have 3 ceiling fans but no fans in the rooms. This brushed nickel unknown builder in the hallway installed VERY CLOSE of the wall. NEARLY touching the wall!
Its close-mount installed and it was on high but when I went under it I did not felt anything so I toughed it was on reverse so I reverse it but then I realized it was already on downdraft because it did not blew anything either spinning in the other way.
It was so close of the wall that it made a weird sound when spinning and the sound was clearly caused by the fact that it was too close of the wall. It was indeed way too big for the place. C'mon they could have got this in 42''. The motor was very quiet though.
In the Living room there is this AB Hunter Coastal Breeze 42''. I don't like the vent shape on this one. The Beaconhill looks much better IMO. On the opposite this one blew a LOT of air without making a lot of air noise. Ultra quiet motor too.
At first I toughed it was on high but I discovered it was on medium. Wow those are good air movers! But I was disappointed about the low speed, it span too fast on low. The RMP are fast.
Downstairs in another hallway was this 6 bladed SMC 30''. It was noisy and did not blew very much either.
Here a few shots of Wilcorp showroom. Sorry I forgot to take some shots of the overall of the showroom. Is it indeed very large and different than most of other ceiling fans showroom you will see. It does not have low dropped ceiling. It much like a warehouse with expose high ceiling. There also no other fluorescent lights through the fans. The only source of light are the light kits from the fans. Most fans are spaced enough to be able to spin. Nearly half of the fans were on. Most of them on low. The ugly 7 bladed Monte Carlo thing was on high and blew a LOT of air! Really cool place but not as large as I expected for saying it one of the largest in the world. The place is devised into various rooms. The main room is fancier and very warm looking like there no fluorescent lights thought it. They carries mostly: Casablanca, Hunter, a few Emerson, lot's of Monte Carlo, almost every Fanimation you can imagine and very few Kandels and Canarms.
Here some fans of the main room:
My mom loved the Islander so much.
Through the vents I could see the motor and it did not appeared to be skeletal and the blades we not that skinny. Could this be some of the rare early USA made Archives? It even had spiders webs on it.
They still had this (1960?) Original and there was also a 1970s 36'' Original.
Hunter 1886 Series
In another room where most of fans were off and they had fluorescent lights thought it were theses:
A Bayport on sale:
You can customized your fan or request to paint it in any color you want
This is pretty much what I bought but in bright brass with high gloss antique oak blades. I was WAY ABOVE 400$ but I bought it anyway because I wanted a Casablanca
so much for quiet a while now. I will received in the coming days as it was not in stock, they ship it to Montréal. I choose antique oak blades instead of medium oak blades because the sale man show me the samples of blades and I figured that Casablanca's medium oak looked too much like maple which I hate. Getting glossy blades instead of normal did not changed the price. Also the price that the sale man told me at first hopefully INCLUDED the price WITH the blades. That's why it sounded more than I expected. Yes I DID asked about the thing of the XLP-2000 and XTR-200 motor and I should really get a Panama 4-speed pull chain with XLP-2000 motor instead of XTR-200. Since 2008 that its changed back to the XLP-2000 motor on 4-speed Panamas.
In another room way back in the store they had set some special flood lights on the spinning fans to create a special effect when you look on the floor just like you see in some horror movies. It was really cool! This particular room looked brand new because they mentioned they just enlarged their store and that was one of their new rooms. They was still a lot of free space to install more fans. They had also set some tables and sofas to have a better idea of what it would looked in your house. In that room all fans were on low with pretty dim lights.
Theses are HUGE!
In Niagara Falls:
Some Canarm Plesantaire in a Pharmacy:
All Subways I saw in Ontario had theses stone finish Regency Excel.
??
In an Australian Out Back Stack House restaurant they had 6 brown 5 bladed Originals Classic. 2 off and 4 spinning slowly. Niagara Falls is very close of Buffalo, NY so there even more chances to see American fans. Damn it was hard to take pic in that restaurant! I know the pic is very crappy quality but there was those separations walls in that restaurant and there was no fans near us. I tried to take some when I went to the bathroom but there was always a waitress in my way.
The restaurant was also really dark and the flask would have attracted attention but believe me its an Original in that pic.
In a vineyard near Niagara-on-the-Lake where you can taste different wines there was two Canadiantire SMC Park Avenue III 42'' and two other unknown 5 cane bladed fans.
One have droopy blades.
In Niagara-on-the-Lake I saw a lot of fans installed OUTSIDE. Something RARE in Canada.
A restaurant with an outdoor patio have 4 mid to late 1990s SMC Laguna 36''. Those are not the original globes for theses.
Two Banvil Bronze Lines in a clothing store.
A restaurant with a beautiful porch have many Hampton Bay Quick Connect. AGAIN peoples think theses are outdoor fans.
A porch of a house have two black 5 bladed fans.
In a restaurant we went it had a really WEIRD looking bottom mount spinner fan. It had a Encon Princess motor in antique brass. 4 dark wood blades with square tip blades and the fan was not any larger than 30''. I'm pretty sure the fan was originally larger (36'' or 42'') it also had a switch housing that looked like a detachable one (no light kit) and of course it had the reverse pull chain so it was older.
The restaurant was indeed very small with low ceiling. In that same restaurant was also a normal looking bottom mount spinner AB 42'' with 4 pointed tip blades. I wish I could get a pic but ther restaurant was crowded and there was even a line to get in.
On our way back to Montréal we stopped to a Thai restaurant. The restaurant was BEAUTIFUL, very well decorated and the food was so good too. They have 4 Hampton Bay Antigua 56'' with the matching light kit all on low. I don't care if they are Hampton Bay, theses are BEAUTIFUL in person. I just toughed theses would go slower on low with theses wide and thick blades. Unless it was their medium speed but they were spinning at about 55-60RPM.
That's all folks.
