Went thrifting today at both Salvation Army thrift store and Village des Valeurs and found nothing good. Salvation Army thrift store had a gun metal & PB Nadair Studio 42'' exactly like the one in the kitchen of the house I'm staying for college. (posted on page 10) They also had a white & PB 42'' GE vent with 5 cane blades and four tulip lights. 10$ each. Just like last time I went, Village des Valeurs had NO ceiling fans. Only a late 1980s Windmere 9'' desk fan with clear grey blades and chrome grill. They also had a 1990s white & grey Super 16'' desk fan and a 2003 transparent teal plastic 7'' Windmere mesh grill desk fan. BTW that Village des Valeurs store have a couple of Banvil Silver Lines installed. I also went to a newly opened L'Équipeur store (clothing and shoes) and there was 6 white Banvil Gold Lines 56'' cruved bladed. The curved bladed are not too common here. Most of Gold Lines I see around here have straight blades. The straight bladed ones are so ugly. Sorry I did not have my camera. Ste-Therese train station have a white 56'' Banvil Gold Line with straight blades.

For those who read my post with the Canarm Industrial at my College at the bottom of page 10 here are the 36 inchers in a computer room. This particular room have 6 of them. Most of other room have only 2 per room, this is the one with the most fans in it not counting the store where the 56 inchers are. Someone try to hang something on it perhaps. General view of the room. Two cannot be seen on this pic..

Last Friday I went back at Salvation Army and the white & PB GE vent 5 cane blades fan was gone. The gun metal & PB Nadair Studio 42'' was still there. There was one of those weird antique brass Evergo Emperor with the housing half open. It was the first time that I saw an Emperor that close. The sticker said made in Hong Kong but the motor inside was pretty small. Defintely one of the last ones made in HK.(around 1988 I guess) It also had a crappy reverse switch. Theses thrift stores you have to visit them often cause the stuff they have changes often. There was a old early 1980s Super 16'' desk fan with clear blue blades similar to the one I have but in 16'' with the tight grill. The base and buttons were different than the one I have. It look more like a Galaxy base and square buttons. I did not picked it cause I don't need, it was badly yellowed and all dirty. I already have my 12'' late 1970s one that is in very good shape and its enough for me.

Yes they are pretty cute! Love the Laguna shape motor on them! I had a little bit of fun with the variable speed control but even though they are Industrials and should be fine to use on a variable speed control they still have a too loud humming sound on a variable speed control. The loudest they sound is on medium past. Did anybody read what I rote about the thrift store?

Here are the fans I saw in the last weeks: Sorry no pics During the holy week I went to a theater in downtown Montréal and in the cafe of that theater they had two brushed nickel fans spinning fast on long downrods. I'm pretty sure they were some Modern Fan Co Alturas. www.modernfan.com/altus.htmlDuring the Easter weekend we went to visit my sister in Trois-Rivieres and we to a Mexican restaurant with her and that restaurant had a Loft style with an atrium in the middle. The the middle of the atrium where the ceiling was high there was 3 tropical wicker bladed fans spinning fans. I'm not sure what they were but they were definitely a showroom brand not something like Hampton Bay or Harbor Breeze. In a part where the ceiling was lower was a Hampton Bay Industrial 60''. This one was off. Too bad I could not pics of theses, it was REALLY cool! Last weekend I went to a large recent(not rustic looking) Sugar Shack and in the room where we were eating there were 3 Nadairs Designers Choice's 52''. They were on a high vaulted ceiling, all off. The interesting thing was that they were in a really weird color. The fans themselves were ivory and the blades were some kind of marbled light burgundy or dark pink color. It definitely had top be like that from the manufacture cause I know that Nadair Designer Choice's were available in some pretty weird colors/finish like dark burgundy and marbled teal in the early 2000s.
