Dan and Andrew remember me and even did some business. For those of you who don't I am an avid fan collector and have been for many years. I frequent this site at least once a week, but rarely have time to post. Anyway, I forget how to post a quote on here, but I wanted to reference back to John Reeds post back from 05' on this thread that spoke about the Wal-Mart he visited back in 97 in Gettysburg. I have been in that store a million times, as I have a few close friends that attend college at Gettysburg. They have graduated recently, but I was in the store again not very long ago, in the past three months. Figured I would let you know almost all of the smae fans are still there and in heavy use. The only one changed out was one of the 4-blade ge vent fans over the register. Like back in 97', one was always off, and recently replaced with a very odd looking builder fan with badge style blade brackets. But those small industrials in the entry appear to have not been used in a long time, as they have spider webs from the blades to the walls. And one can't spin due to an arcade came in the path of the blades. but figured i would give an update to a very old posting. =) And I have some free time for once and will dabble in some other postings as well.

They are ugly but they are quality fans. The Walmarts here have Westinghouses or cheap Canarms over the registers. Very cheap fans.

This is the only Walmart that I'm aware of that retains the "old school" look, i.e. the drop ceiling, and the rows of strip fluorescent lights. It reminds me of the old Walmart near me, which got demolished and built into a Lowes.

Our Walmart still has dropped ceilings. It was built in 1993 and originally had HRS industrials way up near the ceiling in the garden center. Then they added two on long downrods over the registers in the garden center, but the blades got bent up and they replaced them with gray industrial type spinner fans with three blades and switch housings. They also put two of those at each entrance. They run very slow. There is still one HRS industrial on a short downrod in the garden center.
I remember going back in 1995 or early 96 and seeing the 42" Laskos in white in the old snack bar and the 36" white plastic Laskos in the ceiling fan display.
Newer Walmarts commonly have Graytons and Littletons in the deli and bakery, and sometimes Quick Connects and I think I've seen an Original.

our old wal mart had drop ceilings(tile ceiling) with NO industrials at all,it had those 52" brown/AB laskos over the cashers area & the snack bar as well.
it had 2 36" plastic beige laskos in the hall/interance,but got replaced with 42" hunter fans(don't know the model name off hand) & now it's closed down in 1995(build a super wal mart in 1995) & where the old wal mart was is NOW a hobby lobby

There's a lot of Banvils around here, albeit very cheap ones.

Two WalMarts here have dropped ceilings. One is newer, with Westinghouse industrials and a couple Canarms over the registers, photo counter, and fabric counter. The other is extremely old (looks very 80s) and has two HRSes in the entry, and some Emerson 42" snuggers where the snack bar used to be. they replaced them with gray industrial type spinner fans with three blades and switch housings. They also put two of those at each entrance. They run very slow. What are these industrials you are referring to? Newer Walmarts commonly have Graytons and Littletons in the deli and bakery, and sometimes Quick Connects and I think I've seen an Original. I'd love to see pictures.
