Hey what is everyone opnions on their fans? I personally think that some of them are okay but the rest are just cheap looking toys. And I thought the mult-colored hugger fan was pretty cute. I know Wal-mart can do much better by adding some good fans like from Craftmade or even Casablanca. That would be a better idea for Wal-Mart.

Well if I wanted to show my true nature I could explain why they are like that but I won't. I think Brian gets my meaning... The point is Wal-Mart has always been cheap and always will be. The only change they will ever make is to get cheaper.

WalMart used to sell some decent quality fans, such as Laskos and SMCs, now the stuff they sell is just a joke.

Litex huh? Whenever I look at the ceiling fans there I really doubt that they are going to last that long and I see some kids breaking the blades or the lights and putting chewed-up gume on the fans and that's how in poor quality those fans really are.

Also some Hunters and Westinghouses... Here, just the Litexes. And it should be noted that not all Litex fans are as bad as the Wal-mart fans, they still make some other lines of fans that are decent.

i actually LIKE those mix and match fans, they seem to have a good 153x16 mm motor and the motors weigh 18+ lbs i like the brushed steel one peronally, with the pecan/dark walnut mdf (lol) blades

Hate to break this to you, but 153mm motors aren't exactly "good" unless they're in a 42" fan lol.
Standard spinner sizes are 153mm, 172mm and 188mm. A couple of fans claim to have 200+mm spinners, like that Monte Carlo I linked to on the Ebay site.

And besides and those fans wouldn't ever last that long only about a year or so and they start breaking down quickly.

I have a mint steel wal-mart 42'' hugger I bought there two years ago and the motor already has a short in it which makes it excessively noisy. The wal-mart in Palm Coast, FL near my grandmother's house has a very odd array of fans. There are two 42'' five blade builder fans and one four blade wal-mart lasko with a three light kit mixed in with them. There are three nutone industrials in the bakery, one over the photo development area, and one in the greenhouse area. And in the back of the store over a separate register, there is a white hunter calais with a long downrod.

At least some one here can help me defend Litex. I like the Litex Close-up hugger...I got one for my sister in 2002, and it does the job well. The reason I got it was that it reminded me of some of the older, better fans since it has the footprint vents. See in my Yahoo gallery
