The following is a description of a fan I have wanted since I was a child. Please keep your eyes open.
1. Motor is brown, most likely made of molded plastic. Similar shape to, say, a Casablanca Zephyr motor. housing from what I remember. 2. Bell canopy, brown plastic. 3. Four wood blades, the tips of which are unique and hard to describe: best short description I can come up with is that they are rounded but have the corners cut out. 4. Variable speed (I dont remember any pullchain) 5. The switch housing is narrow and tapered, similar to, say, a Hunter Original switch housing. I dont remember if it has the little steps like a Hunter Original 6. The switch housing cap is NOT flat but tapered, similar to an SMC spinner switch housing cap, or an old Nutone Veranda 7. The sideband is plain, no ribbing or filagree 8. The sideband, switch housing cap, and variable speed knob are brass. I dont remember if the blade brackets are brass or brown. 9. Flywheel motor 10. Motor vents are shaped like the letter U, similar to Nutone Veranda vents (but without the little bar in the middle and more stretched out). I believe they are identical to vents on that big brown Toastmaster Matthew sold (it's in his site gallery) but I could be wrong.
It's been at least 10 years since I've seen the thing. I'll try to add more details as I remember them.
Thanks
Dan

Per JW's idea, I sketched the fan. Since I cant remember the type of blade irons it has I simply used a standard type. Thanks Dan

I've seen one of those, It's also been a long time since I seen one, I do recall seeing the shape of the motor housing, and it reminded me of one of those mid-80's 36 inch hunter huggers, I'll keep a look out.......Adam

What Hunters be those? The Comfort Breeze? I dont see how it can be shaped like that, as the Comfort Breeze motor housings are two piece and this fan had three piece with the brass side band. Please elaborate. Also Do you remember any other details that I do not, for example the blade brackets? Anything you can add to the description or sketch? Finally, do you remember where you saw it? Any stories to tell? I be obsessed Thanks Dan

Hum, I don't know the model, I remember the 36 inch models having the same shape motor housing (vent holes I belive are the same) of your drawing, and the switch housing long like hunter originals and a flat cap. and they were either brass or antique brass, A long time ago my mother use to work in a house that had the flush mount (hugger) hunters that I'm taliking about, I would say they came out sometime around 1985-86. The fan your looking for I doubt is a hunter, because of the variable speed control, at least I've never seen one, so it could be a hunter. or one of those hunter copy cats. I know I've seen the one you scetched, and reminded me of the ones I've seen at my mother's work, because of the motor housing, and it being hung by a down rod instead of flush mount. I don't remember the variable speed control being there or not, or the cap style of the switch housing, And color, I think was, brass or anitque brass.....Hope that helps.....Adam

Doesnt sound like you're talking about the same fan, sounds more like you're talking about the old Hunter Studio series fans. The sidebands of those Hunters had lines. If that's the fan you're talking about they looked nothing alike:)

If your saying the sidebands, meaning the side of the motor housing. I don't recall if there was lines. Do you have a pic, or link to that fan, and I could tell you if thats the fan I'm talking about.....Adam

The shape motor housing is just about the same as the drawings. The older hunter studio series looks more like it, I think, I would need a picture of the older one to be sure......Adam

Well either way it's not the fan I'm looking for (the one you're thinking of), since neither of those Hunter fans looks anything like it. Just remember: smooth brass sideband, brown motor housing. If you see it, pick it up!

The only Parlourfans I'm familiar with that have rubber flywheels rather than the Charleston style "fasco mount" have s shaped vent holes and five blades. I just gave one of those to my "mother in law". Please, take a picture and I'll let you know And see if you neighbor wants to sell or trade that comfort breeze Dan
