I saw that the Nissan Maxima is now discontinued. I always liked those, especially the 2004-2008 ish model with the two glass panels on the roof.

The thing with Nissan is ditch that cvt!
Also the Altima’s high end trims and larger size essentially squeezed the maxima out and also how much more is a Q50 when you think about it?
Shame though what’s left 300 and Charger for full sizers?

Shame though what’s left 300 and Charger for full sizers? Yeah and size wise it seems like the newer Altima I can't tell apart from the Maxima. I loved the Altima that came out in 2002, it was a good looking car and nice seating position, not too big or too small either. Yeah I guess you're right on 300 and Charger left for full sizer. Now if you go into Kia or Hyundai they have some nice contenders in the luxury range. At least the Japanese and Korean brands are sticking with sedans for now. IDK what American manufacturers are thinking getting rid of all of them. I miss the variety, and preferred when older people drove Buicks, Cadillacs and Lincolns sedans instead of all having mini crossovers or big trucks. LOL

LOL They were very popular too in my area probably the most popular of the generations locally. Now the Sentra holds that title. I agree completely I liked it when brands built both or what worked for them. What’s the purpose of Buick now it makes no sense. Cadillac is a lost cause it they made a true Deville/DTS successor I’d have one. I’d love to get a DTS but I can’t afford anything besides our daily drivers and my s10. I thought about this the other day if i didn’t own a truck I’d probably own a full size car like an Avalon the crossovers just don’t do it for me besides the height and ease of getting in.

I like the crossovers alright but more so the full size ones. The stubby little Buicks and stuff like that I'm not huge on. But I guess they are compact and easy to get in and out of with good cargo space, and good mileage.
Personally if I had my own house and everything I want a second vehicle and just carry liability on it. I'd want an older Town and Country or a Sierra/Silverado crew cab. But with the economy going south and real estate getting so high as you hear me talk of all the time it's not happening. LOL

As a traveler I prefer crossover, it's easier to travel on gravel roads

As a traveler I prefer crossover, it's easier to travel on gravel roads When I practiced driving last month, I started on gravel and it wasn’t easy for me, probably cuz I practiced at 10PM, I even had my glasses on and everything that would help me, had to have the light inside the car on too.

I have not driven one but I did drive the trax or maybe I didn’t but I’ve road in a couple and that thing is narrow and small but definitely nicer compared to say a Cruze. The price of used crew cabs is literally insane. Personally I prefer my regular cab work truck but I know most people would disagree with me as the crew cabs get more popular heck supposedly the Chevy Colorado is going to crew cab short bed only with the redesign.

That's how I felt riding in a Kia Soul. However it did have a surprising amount of room and I think sitting up higher helped with that. I'm not surprised. I think extended cab sales are probably lower than crew cab and of course they don't seem to make regular cab Colorados anymore, nor did Ford with their new Ranger and Maverick. I'd be ok with an extended cab.

I had a soul as a rental. I really really liked it. The styling is not my cup of tea but I was very excited with the comfort of it.
If I got a full size I’d get an extended cab. Ideally if my S10 ever dies I’d like to get a regular cab full size Silverado with the 4.3 liter.

I love that green this generation is definitely getting rarer.
I was craving a hot dog the other day and ran into a convenience store and this very polite older man walking in and I spoke for a minute and I saw he had a Town car one Of the last year models it made me smile to see someone with a big luxury car like that that he probably saved up for. Neat to see a prestige big sedan in a world of pods aka crossovers.

What I don't ever seem to see anymore, are the square body ones from 70s/80s. One of my neighbors has a Town Car round body, it has the sensors on the bumper so guessing it's a later year model. We had an 88 when I was little, it was a very neat car, have a lot of memories of it.

Lincoln’s are really dying off in my area you see MKZs and an occasional Nautalis but that’s it. I like Lincoln’s but they never really substantiated beyond being badge engineered until more recent.
I think it was dumb to discontinue the MKZ and the Fusion. I will tear up GM in many ways as they have really made some poor choices since Mary Barry became CEO but I’ll give it to them keeping the Malibu although I’m sure that’s gonna be killed in the next few years gives you an option. Honestly with the crap GM pulls they should have made a Buick version shared platform as I believe the impala was the equivalent. The more recent version of the Regal was truly an idiotic move:

I still see quite a few in my area of the newer ones, sedan and SUV. Really like the MKT.
Wow I didn't even know they still made the Malibu. I was wondering on that though because recently a coworker had to rent a car and her options were Camry, Malibu or Maxima. I just figured it was a year or two old model they still had but I guess not.
I thought about getting another Malibu when I traded mine but I just couldn't get into though I liked the styling, and the one I looked at seemed high for what you got. I did really like the 2008-2012 gen, esp with the two tone interior in beige/brown. I loved the Impala both the final gen and the one before it, here I go talking in circles again.
Plus you still have VW into sedans, I've seen some Arteons around and really like the looks of it, I'd probably never buy a VW though.
