I still see quite a few in my area of the newer ones, sedan and SUV. Really like the MKT. Wow I didn't even know they still made the Malibu. I was wondering on that though because recently a coworker had to rent a car and her options were Camry, Malibu or Maxima. I just figured it was a year or two old model they still had but I guess not. I thought about getting another Malibu when I traded mine but I just couldn't get into though I liked the styling, and the one I looked at seemed high for what you got. I did really like the 2008-2012 gen, esp with the two tone interior in beige/brown. I loved the Impala both the final gen and the one before it, here I go talking in circles again. Plus you still have VW into sedans, I've seen some Arteons around and really like the looks of it, I'd probably never buy a VW though. The MKT I never liked. Honestly I’d get the flex before that one lol. They do make them right now with the car/chip shortage it is all very odd. When my wife and I bought her new car last year she was very nervous to make the transition to a crossover after having sedans always. I looked at the malibus for a split second but would have to go with the LTZ/Premier to get the 2.0 turbo all the lower trims were like turbo charged lawnmower engines and had a cvt blehhhhh! Same the brown beige interior I always felt was beautiful. My wife’s friend has a 2011 I think it is and I will say I was not big in the visibility but so like the look of the car. Vw I’ve never considered. My great uncle had a 2016 Beetle. He gave it to my mom as he hated it and was happy to be rid of it. She likes it. I’ve driven it it’s a unique car impractical for me but over time I think it’ll go with where I hear Vw maintaince is.

I thought those new Beetles were neat when they first came out but I actually never see any of them around. In fact I only ever see the vintage ones, there are about 3 or 4 I see around here. VW is too much maintenance IMO that reflects in their used prices.

Definitely. One of my coworkers has a Jetta and the things a money pit and she constantly poursMoney into it.
She always says I should just buy a new car but she continues not too.

There's a house I pass by sometimes that has an old Lincoln coupe parked in the driveway. It has the round wheel hump on the trunk, and those oval quarter windows. I do like the old 70s Lincolns with those oval windows. It's in good shape too!

I’m up sick right now and was just thinking….
It truly is amazing when you think about it…. After all the American sedans all that is left is: Chrysler 300 Dodge Charger Chevy Malibu Cadillac Ct4 Cadillac CT5
Everything else is a suv, hatch or variant of a coupe (mainly muscle car). Who would have ever thought.
I mean granted we have the foreign selection brands but after all the other brands that have folded too this is like five models crazy!

anybody here likes tesla? I don’t care for the styling, but I admire their implementation of technology. To answer Parkman ‘s question, I’d definitely choose a sedan. If I didn’t need a Super Duty for my work, I’d be DDing a Charger Hemi in a heartbeat. I find most of the crossovers unappealing in terms of their lines/styling, and only a couple have the cheek-stretching performance I enjoy. My wife’s Grand Cherokee is about as close as I could bear to get to a crossover. Mind you, it has a 2.5” lift and upsized all-terrains, so it’s not your garden variety GC, haha Attachment Deleted

Ours has the 20" wheels and tires, although I'd prefer the 18"'s. Our other primary vehicle is ALSO an SUV (an '18 F15 BMW X5 xDrive35i AWD) that we bought CPO (Certified Pre-Owned) last year with only 18k miles, and it now only has 39k miles). Both are great vehicles. The third vehicle we have is an '02 WJ GC Laredo 4X4 (completely base with the 4.0L I6 and 137k miles on it as our occasional driver). We've had GC's since they were first released 30 years ago, and have had every generation. Looking forward to buying a WL (the all-new model) soon, although they discontinued the Trailhawk model that we wanted with the 3.6L V6 (you now have to get the '4Xe' PHEV (Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle) in order to get a Trailhawk, so hopefully we can find a 2022 3.6L V6-equipped WL Trailhawk... the WL Limited lost some features for 2022 (including low-range 4X4 with the "Quadra-Trac II" System, and automatic-dimming mirrors), so I'd prefer a more well-equipped model. The 4xe PHEV would NOT be an option for us, as the GC is always parked outside, and it would be inconvenient to install a wall charger for it.

The 4xe PHEV would NOT be an option for us, as the GC is always parked outside, and it would be inconvenient to install a wall charger for it. This is our first Mopar. My wife's 2014 is a "Laredo" on paper, but whoever originally ordered it added a few options, so cosmetically it's an Altitude. It has 4x4 and the 3.6L. I'd surely rather have the Hemi, but this was a heck of a car at a great price and she didn't wanna pass it up. If you're ever inclined to upgrade your suspension, I highly recommend the Old Man Emu lift. Her Jeep had ~130k on it when I bolted that on, and holy mackerel what a difference. It's a little taller (which we both prefer) but planted. Less body lean in turns, smoother than Barry White and a glass of aged whiskey, and it soaks up bumps (especially all of these wretched railroad tracks around our small town) like they never existed in the first place. My only regret was not doing it sooner. Like you, I'd have preferred 18s. I have 37s on 17s on my Excursion; I like the meaty-tire look. I was trying to convince my wife to go that way when we were planning on new tires for her WK2. She told me she liked her 20s and was pretty adamant on keeping them. So when I called and made the order/appointment at Discount Tire for her Nittos, I also ordered 20x9 Trackhawk replicas. My wife had no idea, and was absolutely ecstatic when she saw the whole setup. As for the new GC, I'm not sold on the styling yet. I feel like Jeep just nailed it on the WK2. The body lines are great, and it scales really well from a Laredo to an SRT. I think that's a struggle for a lot of manufacturers right now. The loaded versions look pretty nice, but the base model looks super awkward because a lot of the body lines are designed around the LED headlights, chrome trim pieces, etc. that you'd see in a higher trim level. But, I'm sure I'll come around with the WL. I thought the 2000 Suburban looked awful compared to its predecessor, and then I ultimately owned a 2003, 2004, and 2005, haha. Anyway, sorry I wrote a book here. I can get carried away. Now I think I'm going to sip on some coffee under my lovely, silent 60" Whittington

I’m a truck guy myself. If I didn’t own a truck I think I’d go big sedan like an avalon. I like the concept of the crossover and getting into them better however I like the comfort and visibility of most sedans better.

I don't know much about them, one of my neighbors has a Tesla sedan. They're too expensive for me! I hate Tesla’s I think they’re hideous. I’ll probably be one of the last people to convert to an electric vehicle. Agreed

Here we are another year later… 300 and Charger are getting the axe.
Looks like GM is gonna hold the end of the American sedan torch.
I always wanted a Cadillac DTS. I was thinking earlier about it If only Cadillac would come up with a full size sedan again but then I think how I want a real sedan not this cut off back sloped rear seat roof. I want a V6 or V8 not a four cylinder or hybrid. And I want the wreath back in the logo but that’s way too much too ask and something that isn’t happening. I hate the way the auto market is shifting

I still have Ford Taurus and I’m happy with it. Gotta say I really like the Ford Explorer overall, if I was getting something newer that’s what I’d get out if Ford’s current lineup.
I just can’t seem to get into the crossovers much, I like something more like the Explorer. I will say I did like the Kia Soul a lot for something of that size.
My friend had a Hyundai Elantra, an older 2004 one and it was pretty comfortable, has anyone ever ride in an Accent?

Makes sense the Taurus and Explorer were on the same platform.. now the explorer is rear wheel drive.
We haven’t had any updates to our fleet. Since the birth of my daughter we do use my wife’s Sportage more. I can honestly say for a kid a crossover makes sense at least at this age with the stroller however I wish we got a midsize not a compact crossover.
We had a 2018 Hyundai Elantra the thing was way too small. Nice looking car. My aunt had an Accent hatchback. It was comfortable ended up getting totaled.

My neighbor across the street has the prior gen Sportage, probably 2019, I like the look of it. Another neighbor down street has one too.
