The Hinkley Windward looks like the MX Excels that Subways have. Those are indeed good fans, 188x22mm motors, 16° pitch. To me the Hunter Paramount XP is the best deal of the bunch, it would be even better if it was back to $65 or whatever it was down to before. But still where can you get a 188mm motor fan, wood blades and good build quality for $99 these days? If the performance was better I'd recommend the Kichler Fryst (a Hunter Original copy) - wood blades, cast motor housing, 188x25mm motor with iso ring. BUT as mentioned before they only draw around 75 watts so the performance is a lot lower. But you can get them on eBay for $63 with free shipping, in brushed nickel and brushed bronze, and for a fan that retailed at least in the $300 range, they're still a decent deal, IMO. Build.com had them for the same price but with a 20% coupon, it brought the price down to around $50. I was able to find the XLP Panamas in bronze here: www.ceilingfandirection.com/casablanca/54-traditional-great-room-maiden-bronze-finish-4-speeds-ceiling-fan-with-light-fixture.htmlThis website is associated with CoreCentric Solutions, the same company that listed them on eBay before, same price and everything and free shipping. I don't know how I feel about that site, but CoreCentric appears to have decent reviews. I'm thinking about ordering one myself. The price is a bit high, but just that light kit sells for $100 at Home Depot.

I know they handle Hunter's returns and refurbs. Most of the ones on eBay seem to be through them. They had the Casablanca Panama XLPs in bronze on eBay but they disappeared recently and says sold out. I did some searching and was able to find them for sale on another site from CoreCentric. Most of the reviews I read seemed to indicate they're good about sending you a new fan if you get one with problems. But I think these are the only XLP motor Panamas they have available. I'm thinking about ordering one but I don't know if it's good or not. It says they still have them, I was able to put one in the cart and all, same price as on eBay and free shipping. But on eBay it says they are sold out, so I'm a little confused.
I might just order with my credit card and cancel the order if it doesn't work. I like the finish and the light kit they have. Which the light kit alone is $100 on Home Depot.com

I'm sorry to hear that, they had some nice fans.

Thanks! We closed now a ton of stuff to fix and uodate . So i received my Panama... they now have composite blades instead of plywood it says and tested the motor and BEARING noise tickimng etc.. needless to say its going back. Wow, I'm really surprised to hear that. I was expecting it would be a great fan. The composite blades are not as surprising given some of the past unipacked models like the brushed nickel XLPs had the weird shaped ones but I thought those were more of just a random thing to clear stock. I'm still thinking of going for one of those maiden bronze XLP Panamas on eBay with the light kit. I was going to suggest one of the Maiden Bronze XLPs with light kit from eBay but they are sold out now.

I love that Canarm Seymour! Didn't know those were sold under different names, here they were sold as the Harbor Breeze Bella Vista at Lowes, they remind me of 90s Laskos or Emersons. I've never seen a bronze/brown one though.

Yeah, it's a Hunter Original. It was just made during the time Hunter was owned by Robbins and Myers. Back then they were usually called Old Tyme ceiling fans. R&M sold Hunter to a group of investors in 1984, and that's when they changed the tag to just "Hunter." Nice find!

Very cool! I like the wood (or simulated wood) base! I might have to order one of these! They are very sleek looking fans. There is also a version in white with lighter colored wood, and some larger models as well.

Oh wow, I can't believe they still make them with cane blades, and also in more modern finishes too. Pretty good selection. I'm surprised also that they have a 153mm x 10mm. I mean, that's small but it always looked even smaller than that to me. The only place here that really sold Encon was Scotty's Hardware. ACE sells Westinghouse but they never had a display in their new store they moved to in 2005, and last time I went they mostly only had Hunters on the shelves.

Does anyone know the brand of the three brushed nickel fans here? One has a triangular pull chain fob. I was thining Monte Carlo or Minka Aire. I just kind of like the looks of them, sort of look Casablanca-ish. Also I really like this house! www.csedwards.net/handout_res.php?mlsnum=272941#5

Does Westinghouse still make the Princess 4 and 5 blade spinners? Those were my favorites.

It is interesting to me how they sold that older style SMC Laguna spinner with stencil blades as later as 2001, alongside fans like those SMC Quick Connect style. I would have expected the Grayton style rather than that.
Also again it surprises me that Sears still had catalogs in Canada in 2001. In North America I didn't see a full Sears catalog past 1993, and after that it was mainly magazine-size home catalogs with fans in them, or possibly small toy catalogs.
I don't think Sears in my area even sold ceiling fans much other than maybe a small selection near the paint and hardware department, but never an actual display. This was in the late 90s onward.
JCPenney however was still printing catalogs up until the late 2000s at least. I think they may still have had ceiling fans in them, but the selection was very small by that time.
