I was actually worried over nothing when I made that post a while back about them not offering replacement flywheels. It's true they don't show it on the PDF parts list, but one nice thing Casablanca/Hunter has done now is added online parts ordering to their website. You just punch in the fan model number and it spits out the parts. I entered a new Panama XLP model number and sure enough the flywheel was there and available for ordering. It was a different part number than for the older fans though, so maybe it's changed. IIRC it was actually a bit cheaper than the previous generation flywheels. A few parts like motors were call-to-order only, but the majority were able to be ordered online. Unfortunately the model number search only works on fans from the InteliTouch 3 era and later, but if you know the new model numbers and which parts are shared between generations, you can easily order parts for older fans through it.

I noticed that on their YouTube channel. Hopefully it's more than some investors attempting to sell more fans by appearing socially responsible. Regardless of the intent though, it was indeed a kind act. Here's the full video featuring Casablanca fans if anybody is interested: I didn't think of that initially.. but unfortunately there's a good chance that's the intent behind it..

Those were actually two separate things that they donated fans to. The Panama I pictured was in the actual Veterans Home (the care center for retired service people), the video you posted features fans donated to the actual house of a veteran. I can confidently say that it's not just marketing on their part. You guys have to stop always thinking the worst lol, too much pessimism. Some of their more recent service projects have been widely featured, but they do a lot that gets little recognition at all. They donated fans to the St. Jude Dream House, which has been featured but gets little attention, and they've hosted less fortunate members of the Memphis community at their headquarters for meals and game nights. Just a couple examples of those I've seen, and probably many more that I haven't seen.
This is part of why I haven't turned entirely away from Hunter/Casablanca. I can't say I love a lot of the product lines, but I do care for the company itself and the actual good people who work there. They have the nicest social media specialist, she could choose straight up not to deal with a lot of the annoyances some collectors and enthusiasts present, but instead everybody has a chance to get noticed and feel recognized.
I love the online ordering for Hunter/Casablanca, but I wish EVERYTHING was available online. There have been things I've wanted to get, but 75% of those things are only available by calling customer support which is honestly the last thing I want to waste my time with. But if you know what you want and they have it online, it's simple and it's going to be the correct part. I've done it on there a couple times now and it is really fantastic.

Max is strongly biased against hunter as a whole, so no matter how much ceiling fans that donate/ how kind the people are that work with the company, he will probably stay intensely segregated against hunter/ Casablanca and the respectable-solid quality Fans they do still have, he will most likely continue to bash them for the downgrades that they have undergone. Casablanca is not the Casablanca we knew previously, but I cannot say that their fans are worse than home store Fans (as Max has been for the past 2 years). Here is my top 5 manufacturer list for 2015: #5:Quorum & Modern fan/period arts (tie) #4.Craftmade #3:Minka Aire #2:Casablanca Aaannnd #1: A 2 way tie! (Emerson & Fanimation).

In the last ten years, Hunter has been handed from investment company to investment company like an old sofa at a garage sale. For a while, their entire philosophy has been centered on profiting from producing good looking fans made from low quality materials. I'm not saying that they haven't improved since (in fact, it sounds as if they've actually started to become quite a socially responsible company), it's just that it'll take a while before they gain my trust and support. This is part of why I haven't turned entirely away from Hunter/Casablanca. It would be fascinating to see if they would be willing to ask the entire fan community how they feel about the new lineups...

As long as people want to keep hashing this out, I'll be here. Differing opinions are fine with me, and it's not like we haven't done this already, but it seems we've not reached that agree to disagree place yet. I just want both aspects represented for future readers so they don't simply jump to a conclusion because nobody contradicted anything, and instead make their own decision on the matter. I'm not on board with everything they're doing, but I don't think it warrants constant bad-mouthing within the collector community. It gets so old, that's why I started arguing some of the positives that are happening. Really, isn't there something else we can talk about? Is it necessary to mention how Hunter and Casablanca aren't the same in every thread regarding some such fan? It seems like every rare chance I do get on the forums, I end up having to talk Hunter because nobody else really takes my stance. I do think we've started breaking down the division a little bit though. We've seen the bad from the start, I still see the bad side easily, but what good pieces there are within that company are being noted now and we're working toward that neutral plane. I mean, even Max just said something that sounded remotely positive by the end.

That's what VCF was made for, after all. Being objective, Hunter has done some great things as of recently. It's worth noting that I actually find some of their newer products quite appealing (in terms of looks, anyways). There's undoubtedly major room for improvement, however if Hunter is open to ideas, positive changes might be around the corner.
