IT3 does beep: www.youtube.com/watch?v=KPpPAmrVgHUI'm on a completely different page regarding this stuff than most people here, so don't even bother coming on the defensive for me saying this, but after seeing some real pictures of the new Panamas installed in actual settings, I'm with Noah in feeling it's not quite as hideous as the stock pictures make it look. I still hate it, I mean installed it looks like a Hunter fan for sure, but at least with an XLP model it's not the worst decision you could make. I feel like the stock pictures accentuate the hideous new features, in an actual installation those details are less harsh and kind of fade out more.

Personally, thinking about it again, I dont mind the design of the new panama, I just hate that fugly switch cap... If hunter removes it, I'd be happy. I saw an assembly video of it and noticed they changed the format of the screws to the bracket... i wonder why

I've never seen it in a real picture or video before.. Have any images you could post here?

Out of all the current HunterBlanca fans, at least the new XLP Panama is tolerable. Looking back at a thread posted on DT, Sam made a good point regarding the exclusion of a flywheel in the parts list. Are OEM replacements no longer being offered? I just hate that fugly switch cap... If Hunter removes it, I'd be happy. That's definitely the main issue. I saw an assembly video of it and noticed they changed the format of the screws to the bracket... I wonder why To save $0.02 per fan...

Or just to change something with which there is nothing wrong because that supposedly makes it 'better'..

They changed the blade pattern of Casablanca to match all of Hunter's fan lines, one universal pattern for both companies. I think that's a good change for the general public though, consumers often got frustrated between standard and badge when it came to Casablanca, especially when ordering online and having to figure out what they need. That's a whole other aspect of this thing, showrooms are dying with the advent of online shopping, and companies are making it easier to put your fan together and order it online, thus the Custom Casablanca and My Emerson Fan hype, and all the accessories being streamlined to fit anything. I personally am still a consumer who would like to go see and touch the products in a showroom at least before considering purchasing, I think it's sad that a lot of showrooms aren't faring well in the internet age. So far I've still had luck with OEM Casablanca parts from Hunter, as recently as a couple months back. I still say they just didn't bother to print various different manuals for each variant of Panama. Installation is all the same and the flywheel is part of the motor unit, I think they just feel it's irrelevant information to the customer these days. In 20 years when/if that flywheel conks out, they'll either figure out how to fix it if they really care enough, or they'll just replace the whole fan which I think is the expected remedy. Silly but true. This is the example that always pops into my mind from Casablanca themselves, because I think the fan itself looks particularly unoffensive. Yes, like I said, it looks like a newer Hunter fan instead of Casablanca, but I don't think it looks BAD.

Very good points Cole.. I'd have to agree about the online shopping.. That will be the future, and sooner or later showrooms as we know it will probably disappear.. As far as my preference goes,, I did go to a showroom to get my Panama.. however I actually did the majority of choosing on the computer.. I do a lot of shopping in general on the computer.. partially because its more convenient.. partially because you can often get a better deal..
You're completely right about the flywheels.. in 20 years when it breaks people will just buy a new one.. nobody fixes anything anymore.. and the few that are ambitious enough to do so will figure it out on their own..
I don't think this looks bad at all in that image.. in fact I really don't have anything to say bad about it.. it just doesn't look like a Casablanca as I know it.. or anything else for that matter.. That having been said.. I can't help but make fun of this image.. If I had the proper software, I'd edit in a bubble quote: "Oh boy, that sure looks terrible!" LOL

I am with Cole on this one.. people want more standardized blades so that they don't confuse which hole spacing is for their blade brackets.. so no Max, casablanca did not do that to save 2 cents per fan.

LOL You do realize that is precisely what I would've done to that image, right?! If only windows computers wouldn't crash due to too many bugs... but then again, I could use my chrome book for that. I almost made mockery of it over instagram. Speaking of which, do you have an instagram?

I almost made mockery of it over instagram. Speaking of which, do you have an instagram? I have multiple Window computers and they don't crash.. I do not have an Instagram.. however I have been considering getting one.. I'm generally not much into social media..
If you don't mind, could you shrink those images in your signature a little? It takes up so much space and scrolling..

Best fan #5: the 54" Fanimation Ascension ceiling fan. It looks a lot like an industrial, but it has 4 blades like some industrials in Canada do. Also, it can be installed in a residential environment, kinda like the Emerson loft, their residential heat fan lookalike. This thing moves almost as much as an industrial, which is just great; good decision on fanimation's part. Attachment Deleted
