I might have to get myself one of these fans then. Especially sense I've always wanted a Huntington I, this might be a close second for it. The newer Huntingtons are alright it's just their blades droop for no reason after a certain amount of time. Unfortunately the irons on the current Huntingtons are pretty flimsy and tend not to last,, Even the blades themselves warp over time.. A very cheaply made fan.. A number of King of Fans made Hampton Bays seem to suffer from this problem. Max has an entertaining theory about those blade irons on those fans.. So far the Brookhurst has shown no signs of blade warpage whatsoever.. Seems like its a pretty sturdy fan..

They still look kind of cool (when they're not drooping) but I like the Huntington I better. What is Max's theory? Awesome! how long have you had the Brookhurst?

I quite like the irons on the Huntington 3s, but they really start to look garbagy once the blades are drooping so badly.. Max seems to think that the blade irons are infinitely bending any time the fan is not running..
I've had the Brookhurst for just over a year now,, and its been running on full speed for the majority of that time..

But yeah I have to agree with you when they start drooping they don't look nearly as good. Yeah that's entirely possible. Seems as though in order for them not to droop you need to have it on 24/7. The Brookhurst doesn't seem like a bad fan. Has it gotten tired at all or is it still running strong?

It seems like its running as fast as it ever did.. The motor may have gotten a little louder, but its still mostly not noticeable.. I would say its holding up pretty well..

Only my Carousel II noticeably hums but only on medium and low (you can hear the fan from the second floor of the house). Accept my Carousel II had always hummed. In fact it used to hum on high too but it got quieter over time believe it or not. The weird part is, it was when i changed the blades from the color set to the white and bleached oak set that made it stop. It was totally un-intentional too. Just switched the blades then boom no more hum on high speed.

I took the advice from this thread and got a Brookhurst for my cousin's bedroom a while back. It is a decent fan, but I realized that I didn't mount it to a fan rated box… I'll have to fix that next time I go visit their house.

I know right. But hey whatever works. The noise didn't really bother me too much so I didn't care either way. I'm still trying to figure out what could of have caused this happen.

I'm still trying to figure out what could of have caused this happen. The only logical explanation I can conjure up would be that something was loose which got tightened in the process of installing the blades again

Jordan, is this fan worth buying? Depends what your budget is, and if you want something new or not.. I'm certain you can get a better deal on an older, used fan which will perform better than this does.. But if you want a modern one, this is a reasonable fan to buy.. Its been running continuously since I installed it and its still going fine..

This one is the brushed nickel model in this pic.

It looks like a good fan. On the HD website it has a lot of good reviews. This one is the brushed nickel model in this pic. I would recommend it over many Hunter models out there today.. It is a decent looking fan, one of the last few traditional designs on the market, which was one of the reasons I went with it.. I have the white one, and while I would have much preferred it in brass, it doesn't look overly cheap at all.. The finish is nice, there aren't any imperfections or dings in it, which I was pleasantly surprised by.. The motor is a bit on the noisy side though, so maybe this wouldn't be the best option for a bedroom, but aside from that for the price I paid I really have no complaints..

Honestly I am with Jordan regarding a vintage fan. Why buy this when you can receive far higher quality with something older?
