Large Update - Part 1

Fan number one of the week - this 52" TAT-made Canarm hugger. Oddly enough, it's from 1990 which is certainly newer than I was expecting it to be. Although it has the older-style TAT blade brackets, it also has the newer 90's housing, making this a rather uncommon variant.

ever installed on the new testing setup!

The next day, I picked this little 44” Hampton Bay Spolleto. Judging by the blades, I’d say that this was most likely a display model for Home Depot. Here are the pictures of the fan:
Motor. Being that's it's a 44” fan, it's a kind of small (153X13), but the fan is surprisingly fast:

Two fans had just came in shortly before I arrived at the ReStore - a Kendal Lighting Quantum II and a Halsey GE-vent (this one wouldn't have been sold under the Kendal Lighting brand name in Canada, as it has a reverse switch).

Halsey GE-vent:[img alt="" src="http://i857.photobucket.com/albums/ab132/Maxischannel/101_5786_zps72f77de6.jpg[/img]
I believe the Quantum II was previously installed in a kitchen, as the blades were noticeably yellowed by grease:

I brought the TAT-made Canarm hugger and hung it on display, in addition to an SMC U42 I got a little while ago. The CEI/Kenmore fan (shown in my previous post) and a 36" Canarm spinner with custom-painted green blades can also be seen:
I also picked up two fans that were recently dropped off. They both appeared to have belonged to the same individual, as the SMC U42’s housing was hanging off the Halsey GE-vent by the lead wires.
Fan number one – Halsey GE-vent:
Motor. For today's standards, it's fairly well-sized for a 52" being 172X14:
The fan was pretty dusty, and also had some paint splatters on top of the motor housing:

Two fans came into the back – number one, a 42” Disney-themed fan featuring Buzz Lightyear. Number two was a very late SMC UB42 from 2005, making it one of the last ever made.
Number one – Disney-themed fan. According to the label and included instructions, the fan was distributed by Home Depot Mexico. I can show further pictures of the fan, instructions and labels upon request.
Here is the fan itself:

Number two - SMC UB42. Really, there isn't too much to say about this one. It's a super cheap, underpowered fan that was replaced by a Hampton Bay chandelier.

I hung the SMC U42 on display:
I also decided to pick up two fans that had recently arrived – a new in box Hampton Bay Renwick and a Kendal Lighting wood housing.
Fan number one – Hampton Bay Renwick. The fan was a return item from Home Depot, because the light kit and switch housing was missing:
The globe was also broken, but that probably has to do with the previous owners more than anything:
At first, I wasn’t confident about whether or not I should sell the fan, as it was missing the switch housing and light kit. Moreover, it had a broken globe which I didn’t have a replacement for at the time. However, I took a chance and decided to re-paint a Hunter switch housing I had.

After, shown on the fan fully installed:
Video soon to come.
Fan number two – Kendal Lighting wood housing. This was probably one of the dustiest fans I've received in a while! When I first took a look at it, the entire top of the fan was almost invisible under a thick layer of drywall dust. As you might notice, there are some large bags/drop sheets covering the fan. This was actually curtusey of the previous owners.

I decided to stop by at Habitat to see how many fans sold (or in any new ones came in for that matter) and discovered that a customer had made a sightly unusual fan-related request. Supposedly, a regular ReStore customer came in saying that he has a fan with “A broken switching assembly,” and because we sell fans here, was wondering if we could fix it. I accepted, of course. Here are some pictures of the switch housing. Note that all personal information has been blocked out for privacy reasons:

I stopped by at Habitat for a second time that week, and was greeted with a very pleasant surprise! With the ReStore being under new management since last August, there have various changes – some I like, and some not so much. One of the major changes has been cleaning up the store and making it more open-concept. This included a complete reorganization of the back warehouse, including fan storing. Because of the large number of donations that the ReStore receives daily, there usually isn’t a whole lot of room to put stuff (fans included). As a result, all the fans have now been moved to a designated and personal “Fan Room”! This not only cleans up the warehouse, but also ensures that no “ugly” fans have to be scrapped to clear space.
Here is a picture of the room – yes I know there are a lot of fans to take!
I should note that firstly, yes that is a Homestead Wind II
copy (Canadiana?) and not the real thing. Also, in the near future I will be posting in-depth pictures these fans, when I have the time and most importantly, the fans on display sell.
As for what I ended up taking that day, a volunteer kindly brought me a new in box Hampton Bay Glendale that Home Depot just dropped off.
Reason for return – was “Light overload” which really, can only mean one thing – the fan has a watt limiter...
Strangely, it looks as if the previous owners of the fan took actually bought a second Hampton Bay Glendale, and just swapped out the motor. Or in other words, the motor was lightly used, but everything else was brand new.
Blades:
Motor. Not too bad for a fan of today, being 153X20. Notice the scratches on it:
