Looks like you at least have two distinct speeds now.

True, although the irony is that they're not correct. I am starting to think the motor cap is failing, but I'm going to leave well enough alone for now.

What should it run?

Christian's seems about how this one ran when I first installed it.
It's a bit slower that it was originally now on both speeds, as it was in the video I made of it before. I need to take it down, regrease the bearing, replace the cap, etc. But it never gets used so it's not a priority.

So as most of you know, I've been assembling a (second) batch of fans to install in the AFCA/Fanimation Ceiling Fan Museum. Some of these fans have been packed away for over 10 years and some of them have never been installed. I have decided to fully assemble, hang, and test as many of them as possible before they make their way to Indiana. These videos will be "quick and dirty" as I have a small amount of time and space to assemble/hang them, fix any issues, and move on to the next fan.

The tiffany looking shades (which are in fact closer to actual tulips than the so-called "tulip shades" themselves look AWESOME with this fan. I hate them with CFL's though. Kind of off-topic, but the first time I saw this type of shade was also the first Tyeb 6-blade I ever saw, at my nextdoor neighbors' house as a child, except theirs were smoked glass.
With the hot bulbs in the motor housing it seems like this one would act as a heater fan unless you put LED or CFL up there (which of course didn't exist at the time). With a monochromatic finished fan (white, black, chrome, brushed nickel and the like) I'd be tempted to put colored bulbs up there. This would also be an interesting concept to reintroduce especially in the restaurant/bar/club industry in which you could rig a fan or series of fans with DMX controlled infinite color LED.

Yeah, I wouldnt use CFLs in it in the museum.
The squirrel cage blower was to keep the bulb heat away from the motor.

Love that Homestead Whisper Fan! I also happen to have a Leslie Locke "Play It Gain Sam".

I'm guessing the Emerson was intended to be 52". I wonder if the blades are original to the fan, or if they were an available option? Usually Emerson at least puts smaller housings on the smaller fans and adjusts the speeds accordingly. Also, I'm assuming K63, non-reversible?
