I demonstrated the light kit nut on this 4 Saisons almost two years ago. It was used mostly by 4 Saisons and Enredco but a few New Fans and SMC had it. My favorite fans with theses nuts are 4 Saisons Classics. I have seen quite a lot of fans from the US with a Attention sticker.

It got quite damaged in shipping. I was able to repair it (mostly), but the seller didnt insure it, and basically told me I am SOL. I'm quite pissed.

It's not really much newer, it's most likely from 1986 but I'm suspecting it could be a little older because apparently 4 Saisons have used fake wood finish as early as 1984. It serves the purpose of adding a light and when the fan doesn't have a lower canopy, they can put the capacitor in there like you saw.

Ouch..
1986 would be too new for a fan like that I would think here in the USA.. But for some reason Canada was still getting those heavy cast Hong Kong made ceiling fans well into the mid 1980s, while here in the USA everything got cheaper made..

I was saying Jean's ball socket 4 Saisons was much newer than the cast motor fans with the same faux switch cap.

That little 4 Saisons Seville with the light kit nut was made in Taiwan like almost all 4 Saisons from 1980-1987. The newest Hong Kong made ceiling fans I've seen were from 1988. I have a Golden Fan from 1984 and I suspect my super heavy and powerful Nadair GE vent to be from 1985.
