I do concur, the inner construction is similar to that of a fan of Japanese origin. Has nothing to do with the appearance, it's the inner workings that make it similar.
I need a refresher course on the Relite bits. I think Tais covered a lot of info once before but I haven't utilized it since. I did think Relite itself was based in England though, and the Airmaster label was slapped on for the North American market and here is the only place we've for-sure seen it. Need to hear commentary from Tais again to get it all straight.

These also imported some Nutone Prolines, and currently import Crompton Greaves. That's all I know. I didnt retain any of Tais's information about the actual Relite company, sadly. Now that I have one, I'm wonder if Relite was the factory and that's who Airmaster bought from, or if relate was the label in UAE. Also wondering if England was just assembly and the parts were actually made in Asia somewhere. Sure looks like it.

Sure looks like it. relite electric ltd was based in england from 1967 till 1975, known as revo since 1930s i believe, before it was renamed to relite in 1967.. between 1976 and 1980, simplex circulume handled the manufacturing of relite fans until Relite Fans Ltd was established in july 1 1980.. the 80s relites and airmasters before 1987 all have 10/10 pole windings exactly like the simplex relites, the 1975 version has a thicker stator, 1987 version and onwards until that model was discontinued had 8/8 pole windings and a much thinner stator and it has iron blades.. since this model is brought up, now i have a doubt whether relite was the one that made fans for airmaster or not.. i also noticed the canopies of the airmasters have a screw to tighten up, relite canopies have no screws and the plastic material is more flexible This uses what looks to be a standard 1/2" downrod. I opened the motor and didnt see Simplex. If I open it again I'll look more thoroughly. Do you know when they first started Airmasters of this type these in the US? Was Relite the name of the company in England? hmm.. all 80s relite use the standard 1/2" downrods, the 70s ones had a thicker downrod i always thought it was somewhere in the 80s when this model of airmaster came to US, now i dont know really.. relite is the name of the company in england
