I received the flywheel last Friday.. It wasn't easy as I thought it would be, I had to drill new screw holes (that attaches the metal cover) next to where the shaft of the motor goes through the flywheel.. Next time I have to do this, I may try a different procedure to where I use the holes already drilled seeing how that's a critical area.. I called the person who sold me the flywheel and asked him do they still make the 5 blade flywheels, and he said yes I have them made, I asked well seeing how that's basically the same flywheel as the 6 blade version why can't you have those made too, he didn't give a answer. I said maybe you you should sell blank ones, he mentioned about the machine stamps the holes...
Anyways here's a video of the repair job
Here's the video of the fan
Also has been added to the Fasco Gallery under
Fasco World's Fair Ceiling Fan Model 962CB
I uploaded the full instruction manual and warranty info..

Why, because you don't get enough comments on them? I enjoy them immensely but I don't feel obligated to leave a comment on every single one (on YouTube or on here). I don't get bent out of shape if no one comments on my videos... I know people watch them though.

I did watch the flywheel video as well. I don't leave a lot of comments on YouTube, nor do I feel obligated to leave them anywhere. If people are viewing even in the least that's all that I feel matters.

It's not about the comments on the videos, I spent all day fixing it, and making these videos and the pics, not to mention it took a whole night to scan the manuals and all that to PDF etc.. at least someone could say "Looks nice", or "Good job" or something of that nature.. If my work is not appreciated, why bother? but then again, maybe I slowly did things and should have posted everything all at once.. Or maybe i'm just expecting too much..

I personally don't mean to disregard the work you put into the fan or scanning the manuals by any means, it is appreciated whether it's voiced or not. I don't think anybody is unappreciative, but I guess I kinda see what you're saying when you said no more DIY videos. While I did enjoy watching, I don't do many videos or posts on repairs and such I do myself because you don't really get a lot of comments or feedback on it other than generic stuff that doesn't mean a whole lot. So yeah, maybe it's not worth doing them if you expect more out of it, but that's of course your choice to make.

I've noticed what you're saying over on Youtube.. There's alot of videos over there that contain terrible footage of new(er) Hampton Bay and just complete junk period, and the comments under the videos are pages full.. Seems to be mostly kids, 16 and under.. Anyone who collects older stuff, which is actually collectable, no one seems to comment, maybe two or three comments I have per video, and noticed that with other people too who have old fans up.. I don't expect much from over there, and only use Youtube to upload and attach to the forum.. If I could upload a video to where you can only access it by link, without losing features I probably would..
To go off subject a little, people who collect antique TVs from the 40's - 70's seems to be alot more than people collecting old ceiling fans.. There's a guy who does nothing but collect them and repair them and videos everything, and he gets tons of comments.. Maybe if more people would video there fans and DIY projects, maybe it would increase the amount of people to collect them.. That's why it's always good to post pictures over here, and even your projects like I did a few times..

I certainly don't get comments like I used to on YouTube. Used to get pages and pages and now I'm lucky to get five. I think a lot of the fan collector population as it is has really aged over the past few years and a lot of us don't have time to watch and comment as we used to. The new people coming in are interested in the Hampton Bays and Harbor Breezes that were a part of their childhoods. It's a new demographic that we have to contend with. If we could just get them onto the forum instead of exclusively on YouTube, they would learn more about vintage stuff but even then they would still hold interest in newer stuff. I am so thankful to be a mid-90s child, some of the last kids to grow up in an era of some quality products.

Those people really don't have a place so they post over on Youtube and record videos in different locations (Armature video).. They are kids, alot of them are not able to collect fans. Be honest with you I think Id still like the 70s and 80s fans if I were born either before or after.. I like the quality and the durability etc. I would even collect genuine antiques, but that's something I never see in these places and I'm not going to spend hundreds on Ebay either..

I'm old enough to wonder why you guys like 5 blade fans. In my day, we had four blades and that was enough!
