It's been painted halfway.. I just tried it, the motor must be seized up, it's really hard to move the blades and the motor just makes a little buzzing noise..

Not bad finds! If you get rid of them I'd be interested! Is that rain on the Hunter's blades or damage?

BTW the Emerson may run if you oil the bearings.

congrads on another squeeky,GGGLLLAAADDD YOU GOT IT!!!!!!!!!!!
well you can keep it,if it doesn't turn, try the cooling fan,it may be touching the hampster wheel thing,if not,it could be the bearings in the motor(if the motor is burned up>>it won't even humm, the bearings must be a problem..either way, hope you get it fixed..
nice hunter desgner's choice, yours is a later version(spinner motor),mine is older with flywheel..

I got the squeaky fan going.. While in the process i was able to scape off the paint on the bottom half of the motor housing using my finger nails.. The motor was seized, I sprayed WD40, and then put some oil in it.. It's running as I type.. Sometimes it doesn't start without pushing the blades.. Hopefully running it for a while will fix it..
Where ever it was installed in the previous place, it was in a good environment, there is not a spec of rust anywhere..

very good to hear adam, yea i'm glad the previous owner got it indoors but shouldn't had paint it,if they had a all white one and since that was all brown one and if the previous owner wanted brown/white combo, they should took the white housing off the white one and put it on that brown one and so on on the rest of the parts that has/had paint on it,if the previous owner would had done that, then this squeeky wouldn't had been painted by the previous owner in the first place and when it first got to adam d's hands he would see it run not just hum on the first try and wouldn't bother with the paint mess... since it didn't came with it's own canopy,i be happy to give you a emerson's own canopy,i got both brown/white but brown because the emerson's own paint is brown and previous owner splated white on the white areas... to remove the paint,i use the finger nail polish remover,i done that before and worked. so you can remove the white off

Is that rain on the Hunter's blades or damage? adam is keeping them,i been begging adam to have a squeeky and this is his first 36" version but either way,it's adam's choice on keeping them or not....etc (no offense vincent),i like for you to have them but i also like for adam to have them as well but IF he does give them up in future then yes(i won't be intersted)

I think the motor is no good.. It runs for a few minutes, gets slower and slower and then the motor over heats and seizes up..

I'm trying to fix it.. It has a high torque motor. The motor gets steaming hot instantly if powered on and not able to spin, that explains the little blades on the motor shaft.. I've seen these same motors in old movie projectors..

IMO the friction drive motors look like a blender motor set on its side inside a frame. It probably uses the same type of technology. I'd try to repair it or else get a motor from an old larger appliance that uses friction drive technology.
