I got a rubber grommet wheel and their EZ mount bracket with hook (for mounting to an electrical box) and the total came out to $19.11. Half of that was for shipping though. The individual parts were pretty cheap. I was pleased with the purchase.

July 26: 20 in stock. Got 4 motors in today; two were salvageable and two were trash. Had to provide blades and brackets for both as indicated below. 52" 4B black antique Peerless - $200 42" 4B AB cane hugger, 1L - $20 52" 4B AW/AB Thomas; dark wood blades - $45 52" 4B AW/AB Thomas; antique white blades - $40 52" 4B BB mid-80s Hunter Comfort Breeze - $25 48" NIB 3B W 1979 Fanco industrial - $40 $30 52" 4B BB 1980s Emerson GE vent - $25 52" 5B W Hunter Silent Breeze - $40 52" 5B BB Hunter Infiniti, 4L - $50 (2) 52" 4B antique GE - $75 each 52" 5B BB Litex FPV builder, white blades, 4L - $40 52" 4B BB cane hugger, 4L - $30 44" 5B BB Hunter Beacon Hill, 3L - $35 52" 4B BB Hunter BB Coastal Breeze - $40 42" 5B W/B Craftmade, 4L - $30 52" 5B BB Craftmade, 4L, gloss white blades - $35 52" 4B AB Tyeb variable speed - $35 NEW:52" 4B BB Caribbean Electric GEV, white cane blades - $20 48" 4B AB generic GEV, 1L - $25 Discarded motors:52" 4B AB GEV, very similar to the Caribbean but without filigree and with an Evergo or Tatung style motor-to-downrod coupler. Threw out due to excessive rust 42" 4B multicolor Litex. Threw out due to broken brackets, no mounting bracket, no replacement blades, and rust Pics: Bright brass Caribbean Electric GE vent with filigree. When I got this, it had a badly damaged 5-light kit and the switch housing was bent at about a 30 degree angle. Due to the thickness of the motor housing and the fact that it is backed up by the motor's thickness, I thought I had one that would fly off the rack as soon as I turned it on. I was wrong. It goes roughly 170/90/50 RPM. It does put out a good amount of air though, and speeds up quickly, even on the lower speeds. Here's the AB GE vent. Couldn't find a brand or factory label on it anywhere; the only label shows that it's a 52" and gives a model number. Note the SKINNY motor housing; I was thinking Evergo or Broan but Evergo labels their motors and I'm not sure that Broan made vents exactly like these. I used 42" Tyeb brackets and 52" Heritage blades to get a roughly 48" fan. I don't think it looks half bad; it still only goes 180/130/70 however and the air movement is less than impressive. In any case, it looks like a stereotypical pizza parlor fan

Evergo always uses those green labels whether they say "Evergo" or not. Broan motors have vents. I dont think this is either.
Maybe the Carribean has a failing cap?

I like that PB Ge vents. Those are slow RPM on it. 90RPM on medium is even slower that the medium speed on my Craftmade Decorative. But it does not appears to have so much pitch to the blades.
The skinny AB Ge Vents still looks like a 52'' fan on your picture. I already saw some of these before but I don't recall where.
JW can you answer the questions I asked at the bottom of the last page about those Craftmade?

Dan, I doubt it's the capacitor; I think I have about three fans in right now that all have these same speeds. The Emerson with the hardwood blades and the Comfort Breeze also go this slow. In addition, the fan speeds up quickly, so if there's a capacitor going out, it isn't the start one. Now to answer Jean's questions: This is an older one right? The vents seems much smaller than mine. Can it take both 4/5 blades? At least can the 52'' one can? Did you found any date on them? No dates, and the 42" already had the blades on it when I hung it so I don't know if it'll take 4 or 5 blades. The 52" one does take 4 or 5 blades. The manual of mine says: 55/120/200. To me it seems more like: 55/110/180. A little bit like you said but mine really goes at 55RPM on low like it says in the manual. See they really have a slow meduim speed. It because they have 14 pitch blades on a 153mm motor. Based on what I saw, I tend to agree - the low was intact and went about 55, but the medium didn't work. I did notice that they had a good pitch on them.

There's no differentiation between a "start cap" and a "run cap" in a ceiling fan motor. All non-oil bath ceiling fan motors have at least one cap, we'll call it the "start/run" cap, and any additional capacitors are for speed control.
So it wouldnt be slow to start, just slower overall.

Thanks for clearing that up. I had the Tyeb and the Caribbean on about the same speed yesterday (medium on the Caribbean). Any clue as to why the Tyeb would take much, much longer to get up to speed? Would the variable speed control have anything to do with it?

Only way you can make an accurate comparison is both on full speed. With the speed reduced, it could be because of the control.

I see my Thomases are still there.
Is the hugger ornate, or the light kit?

July 30: 52" 4B black antique Peerless - $200 52" 4B AW/AB Thomas; dark wood blades - $45 52" 4B AW/AB Thomas; antique white blades - $40 52" 4B BB mid-80s Hunter Comfort Breeze - $25 48" NIB 3B W 1979 Fanco industrial - $30 (may have sold) 52" 4B BB 1980s Emerson GE vent - $25 (2) 52" 4B antique GE - $75 each 52" 4B BB Hunter BB Coastal Breeze - $40 42" 5B W/B Craftmade, 4L - $30 52" 4B AB Tyeb variable speed - $35 52" 4B BB Caribbean Electric GEV, white cane blades - $20 52" 5B W/B Bahama cane hugger, ornate 4L kit - $35 42" 4B AB cane hugger, 1L - $20 $1552" 5B W Hunter Silent Breeze - $40 $3552" 5B BB Craftmade, 4L, gloss white blades - $35 SOLD44" 5B BB Hunter Beacon Hill, 3L - $35 SOLD52" 5B BB Litex FPV builder, white blades, 4L - $40 SOLDNEW:42" 4B W Litex FPV builder, 3L - $15 (5-blade assembled with 4) (2) 52" 5B BB Litex FPV builder - $20 each 42" 4B W spinner, 1L - $10 52" 4B AB Hampton Bay GE vent, 3L - $40 52" 4B ornate Kando (similar to Tyeb), 4L - $20 52" 5B AB Hampton Bay hugger, dated 1999, 4L - $35 REJECTS:52" 4B BB newer Old Jacksonville S-vent (used outside, perhaps?); many mounting parts and downrod rusted; broken flywheel; badly warped and cracked blades; deteriorated finish; motor does not spin freely. Parted out for other stack motor fans that may come in. An interesting note, it had a 10uf capacitor; my 48" American Pride had a 7.5 and the older Old Jacksonvilles had either a 5 or a 7.5 up in the motor housing. Haven't opened up the motor housing yet to examine the motor. 46" 5B AB Fasco State Fair. This pained me, because State Fairs are very high on my want list. The rubber part of the flywheel crumbled, so the owner took off and kept EVERY nut, screw, wire nut, etc. with the exception of the blades and brackets, and for some reason cut ALL the wires too short for anyone to repair. I did get a 4-speed Arkless pullchain out of it though (even though it was a 3-speed fan), and plan on either using it in my old 1895 or making my Old Jack buildervent 4-speed. PICTURES:Hampton Bay GE vent; this thing FLIES. I'd say 215/135/70 at least. A second one that came in and had electrical problems went slower, but the blades were heavier and seemed to have a steeper pitch for some reason. One of two 52" Litex builders; they're both the same except I had to mount one using the flushmount feature in order to arrange the fans. They both came in on very long poles which I took off. The 1999 Hampton Bay; Jean what is this called? I think it's the big version of the Littleton, but don't remember the exact name. The light kit is 3-way (1-3, 2-4, all 4, off). Rinky dink spinner, I haven't priced a fan this low since I was clearing out all the crap. I want it GONE 4-blade Litex; it came in with the 4 blades attached. I imagine the fifth one got tossed a long time ago Bahama hugger (Synlix, right?); note that the light kit is possibly worth more than the fan lol. One of the blades is badly bent - I might take it off and make it 4-blade. Photos of the weird Kando coming in another thread shortly.
