Actually I think I'm getting a NIB Evergo. I'll let you know.

Ooh, that would be good. Like I said, my bearings are total crap so if you find something better that's great.

I'll be out of town Aug 13-19 and in Minneapolis Aug 24-27. Otherwise I'll be around most of August. My daughter might be visiting as well, in which case we would have all generations covered!

We recently had our first major rental since I finished "renovations". It was the rehearsal dinner and family only reception for a good friend of mine renewing their wedding vows. I was there for this event, so I was able to keep an ear to the ground for complaints. The only one: Kitchen became too hot and smoky/greasy while they were cooking. Not suprising, the kitchen had no ventilation. That's easy to fix: I bought this fan from Louis specifically for this purpose. I didnt realize it was missing a blade, these blades are borrowed from a different fan. So if anyone has a set that would fit it let me know. I'm debating leaving the ceiling tiles like that to increase circulation, and give the kitchen fumes a way to escape. It might suck for heating in the winter. I also swapped out the AB Evergo in the back room for a new one. Works perfectly. The brown/cane Evergo was having problems starting on low so I swapped the 7.5 cap for an 8.5, now it works perfectly (quick and dirty fix recommended only when you've tried everything else). The front Gold Line runs slower than the other two. I've cleaned and oiled the bearings, replaced the cap, and swapped the 7uf cap for an 8. Nothing changes. Other than changing a few light bulbs and repairing the drop ceiling (and I'm getting help with that) I'm DONE.

Areas of my church that do not yet have fans:
Pastor's office First Lady's office Administrative office Choir room (used for storing robes and changing only) Food pantry Random storage room (was initially the barber shop)
All of these areas have extremely low ceilings and are seldom used. Fans would serve no real purpose and probably be destroyed.

I love that fan for the kitchen! Perhaps you could get some of those plastic panels with the square holes (you know, the ones that are sometimes in those drop in fluorescent fixtures) to fill those openings in and not hinder ventilation?

These would still suck in the winter months, though, as they don't hold back heat.

You both are correct.
The issue isnt keeping the kitchen warm-- it's always warmer than it needs to be. The issue is, we dont want to pay to heat the area above the ceiling.

Is that fan in the kitchen a Dayton/Marley?

The Sears-Emerson spinner looks great! Nice install with that.

It's a Marley, relabeled for Emerson, relabeled for Sears, from 1980. They dont make anything else this any more.

I figured it had Marley origins. It looks a lot like one that Grainger used to sell in the 2007-08 catalog.

It's similar to the 80s version of Marley industrials.
