Another good topic!
I remember a commercial when I was really young that had a Moss or Codep five blade close-mount fan.
Hunters are all over the airwaves these days
Hey, what was that fan in Beverly Hills Cop? I think it was the second movie, maybe the third.

I must say that I am very happy with the threads being posted lately. This is a very good one, Perrey. Nice name, BTW.
Anyhou...I haven't seen any good 1970's or 1980's ceiling fans in movies. I tend to watch old Humphrey Bogart films. In "Casablanca", there were several FernLeafs. In "Some Like it Hot", there was a hotel in Florida full of Hunter R52's.
Sorry, I can't contribute much to this one.

Also, there were lots of Hunter Originals in the James Bond movies (the '50s and '60s ones).

In the movie "Uncle Buck" a 42" Lady Delta is in the laundry room. Later on in the movie it is use to dry clothes (dress shirts hung from coat hangers on the blades, a hair dryder duct taped to the nearby cabnet dried them). You can notice the "Casablanca" badge on the switch housing in some of the beginning shots. And no, the fan was not hurt.
Another one was "Nerds in Paradise" several Casablanca deltas and Hunter Originals were in backgound shots.
Last that I can remember right now was "Summer Rental", once again, several Hunter Originals and a Moss spinner fan.

Gremlins 1984, Casablanca Delta, Dark Brown
Critters 1984, or 86, has a weird Moss Carribean breeze type ceiling fan that has 4 wood blades, switch housing, and lower canopy, 48 or 52 inch. The fan is in the living room, The begining of the movie has a scene takinf from the stairs or second story, looking down on it. also has a long down rod.
The second scene, is somebody accidentally shooting it with a gun, and falls down. they use a different type of carribean breeze fan for that scene. and no long downrod....If you have not seen that movie, rent it if you can find it at your local video store.........Adam

Desperado had a bunch of industrial fans. And the classics . . . White Christmas had some ceiling fans. Dont forget one of the reasons ceiling fans came back into being popular, the movie Casablanca.

In Problem Child 1, there's a Hampton Bay Genoa on the dining room.
In a Budweiser commercial the guy is hanging a Hunter Stratford for his girl, when he or she turn it on, the fan fall down on the coffee table. they even show some fake how-to instructions.
Another Stratford is shown in a Ace Hardware commercial., the guy just completed the installation on the kitchen, when the wife comes in and notice her hubby's achievement., to prove the fan is working, she reach for the switch while the guy's hand is stuck in the trash disposer..

There was an antacid commercial a few years ago that featured an old cajun food restaurant full of early 80's Emersons - you could tell from the arched-end blades.
I believe the fans in the house on "Average Joe" are 4-blade Hunter Originals.
Remember that Nickelodeon show "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" that came on, I think around 1992? The opening shot of a story that took place in a run-down high school shows a close-up of a blenderfan as they pan into the science lab (I think the science teacher's name in that episode was Mr. Emerson, come to think of it.)

In Problem Child 1, there's a Hampton Bay Genoa on the dining room. In the sequal there was a Casablanca Avalon (red fabric blades) after that crazy hag redid their house.

Also a Bellsouth DSL commercial shows a weird standard ceiling that is made today, and has 3 blades. Seen that commercial?

The one where the guys stands up and hits his head on the switch housing? Yep. It's a 6-blade 44" white basic builder fan, mounted with only 3 blades...and GAWD does that ever look AWFUL!

Back in the very early 1990's Fan-C-Fans had commericals all over local Chicago TV. It was like a slide show of the most expensive fans they have. Some of the (maybe most) were scanned pictures right out of the catalogs (most were Casablanca).
