Hi, everyone! As of February 2009, I have started collecting ceiling fans. I have been interested in ceiling fans since I was very little. My bedroom fan: 1998 Encon chili pepper hugger. Not the best quality, but it has sentimental value. It is basically a green hugger with red, chili pepper-shaped blades. Still runs well. I bought a tassel to go with it. ;D There's a picture of one on DT vintage fans.com: www.fans.dangeroustacos.com/galleries/catalogs/Manufacturers/encon/1998/encon1998full018wtmk.jpg2nd ceiling fan: 1991 Crest 2000 Series. A friend gave me this one. It is white with gold, and I picked this one over the others he had because it had stenciled blades. At first it didn't work, but I opened the switch housing only to find that several wires came apart. I reconnected them, and it ran fine. (Very quietly) It is basically a fan with a smaller motor housing with small vents. Has a 3 light kit. 3rd ceiling fan: 1982 (or '83) Sears Emerson Turn Of The Century. I got this one from ebay. It has the original Sears light kit which is antique brass. The fan is white with gold accents. And hopefully I will get an Emerson Blenderfan soon. This is my favorite ceiling fan. My favorites are the ones with switch housings.

Wow I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one that started collecting ceiling fans very recently. I currently have 6 ceiling fans. I had my first ceiling fan in August 2000. Its a cheap white Encon Princess 42''. I still have it of course.
2nd fan I got was my Craftmade Decorative 42'' in September 2007.
Those two first were not really 'collecting' because they were bought brand new full price and all.
In January 2009 I got my first 1980s ceiling fan for free from a friend. In February I got my second 1980s ceiling fan also from that same friend and again for free. The two last ones I got them on Kijiji(local pick up in Montréal) one for 25$ in May 2009 and the other one for 12$ in June 2009 and the fan was New In Box. Both are from the 1980s.

I can testify that I've liked ceiling fans since I was very little.
In essence, ceiling fans are my life, and I started collecting in 2004. My collection has grown immensely since then. This site reignited my love for ceiling fans and this is where I learned that 90% of today's ceiling fans are NO GOOD!
I just recently added a NIB Hunter Passport II in white/PB that I got off ebay into my collection.

Hiya,
I've been a fan of ceiling fans (pun intended) since I was little too..and then I stumbled upon this site (and unknowingly resurrected some year old posts). Now I know more about ceiling fans than ever before.
I have pics and video now.
Have fun.

How do you post pictures on your threads?
I wanted to show a few pictures of my collection.

You load the pictures to a photo hosting site such as Photobucket. After your pictures have loaded, you copy the code (it's important that you use the IMG code) and paste it into the reply window on the forums. That should do it.
