I used to do that! Works best with hugger fans.
You dont have an unfinished garage or basement?

Unfortunately, Dan, my basement is finished and even if it wasn't the ceilings are like 7ft. My garage has a dry wall ceiling without any electrical boxes and there's no room for a ceiling fan. Anyway, here's the video everyone: [a href=" "][/a][/url] Enjoy!

Actually, I had a daylight fluorescent bulb in my chili pepper fan a few years ago. The only reason I took it out was that I wanted that bulb in my closet. ;D My chili pepper fan now has a halogen bulb in it. Yeah, I should show you some of my other light bulbs. I have some other colored bulbs (like that green one) in red and blue, I have some other fluorescent bulbs (including an early CFL - with the straight tubes rather than a spiral), and I have a few Christmas bulbs. I also have a 1890's Edison bulb. IT IS SO COOL!!! Unfortunately it does not work. I got that at the antique store I got my Made-Rite desk fan at. It was like $12 or something. Not a bad price. ;D

I just watch it! Whoa its weird with the different light bulbs. Of course the best looking one is the normal incandescent and the CFL is YARK My best friend parent bedroom also have a AB 42'' Hugger with 4 oak & cane.(without light kit) But the one they have have slow speeds. I saw it spinning on both medium and low and it was pretty slow.

Some CFL's aren't too bad..I have them with a glass cover over the spiral..you cannot tell they're CFL until you turn the light on..then the stupid wattage limiter turns them into strobes. Which I'm beginning to hate, and I don't think LED's would be any better. Think an aftermarket light kit (maybe a spotlight kit?) would fit on a Harbor Breeze fan, after I bypass that stupid wattage limiter??

Chris, check out my signature below: (Pictures of my 4 ceiling fans) ;D I think I'll get on making a set of pictures (as one) and then another. One of ceiling fans, one of my favorite bands. For now I'll stick with The Beatles and a line from "All My Loving".

What wattage limiters? Is it a remote fan?

What wattage limiters? Is it a remote fan? In newer fans made after 1/1/09, wattage limiters are mandatory by the US government. I think it is THE dumbest thing ever thought up, especially before the Bush admin left office. And I hate wattage limiters because they cause CFL's to flicker like crazy at times.

Wow, wattage limiters sound like trash to me... Mmm..I'm thinking of bypassing it when I take out the light kit that came with the fan and put in a new light kit. Strange, I thought some if not most of you knew what a wattage limiter was (not that I'm pointing fingers here or anything). Anyways, the wattage limiter in a Harbor Breeze ceiling fan is made by Hunter. Ironic isn't it?

Yes, that's very ironic! ;D Yeah, try a different light kit then. What does a wattage limiter look like, anyway?

Yes, that's very ironic! ;D Yeah, try a different light kit then. What does a wattage limiter look like, anyway? It's a small chunky box that has a vent or two on it, has two or three wires coming out of it. Crack it open and you'll find a sort of chip in it that has a bunch of transistors (or something like that) on it. It all limits the wattage to 190 watts. I'd have to trim wires to not use it, in any light kit
