Current IGA usually have fans in the entrance and in the aisles but not in the produce section. This seems to be standard.
Actually now that I think again I remember of one smaller IGA, near my place that replaced a Metro and it didn't had any fans in it, at least not in the public section. I don't know if they were any in the storage area. The Metro before didn't had fans anywhere except one or two Canarm CP56 in the storage area. This IGA didn't last long. It existed only between August 2011 to June 2014.

Here are the sightings of October: In a clothing store in Rosemont, Montréal: A Canarm Unity 90 cm and an odd Canarm. I've never seen this particular model. It's like if it was a hybrid of two different version of Catalyst together with the lights removed. Someone ever seen this Canarm before? I returned to café Santropol in the Plateau Mont-Royal area of Montréal and recorded a short video of the two copper Palcos spinner with four metal curved blades that are still installed there. I posted photos of these fans in August 2012, they can be seen on page 21 of this thread. One was on low and the other one on a mediumish speed. In a shoe store in Plateau Mont-Royal, Montréal two or three ivory mid 1980's 4 Saisons Industrials 140 cm with contoured blades. There is also one or two Canarm CP56. Fan no 2 In a Subway restaurant in Deschambault, QC some Regency MX Excel. In a restaurant in Québec City a Kendal Studio 137 cm. A church in Québec City, now used as a flea market for old records, cassettes and CD have five late 1960's to mid 1970's SMC 60F 140 cm still installed in it. Each photo shows each of the five different fan. Although in good condition from the outside, the inside is in bad shape. Here you can see four of the five fan at the same time. The 5th fan is behind me. Enjoy and comment!

Those SMCs are way up there.. Can't image they take much of an effect.. Neat Fans!! They are probably 6-7 meters in the air but with a 1,4 amp motor and heavy pitched brackets I have no doubt that on high we feel air below. Anyway they were mostly installed for heat recovery. For heat recovery, fans have to be kept not too far from the ceiling actually. It's exactly the same model as this 1972 SMC I acquired two years ago. ada19851985.proboards.com/thread/10675/1972-smc-60f-140-circulating?page=1

Oh it seems you all prefer the installation rather than the fans themselves.

And I just realise the fan in the autel area has some light bulbs around itself. pretty special! The whole autel have many rows of lights above it. There's probably close to 300 bulbs in the dome above the autel. It must have been beautiful when lit. It still have incandescent bulbs in every socket.

Here are the sighting for November and December: One of many mid 1990's Canarm CP56 at my local Bureau en Gros: A large Rona in Saint-Laurent area of Montréal that was open around the early 1980's still have most of it's original vintage Canarm mixed with some 1990's Banvil Silver Lines. Here are three different late 1970's early 1980's Canarms. Some are off, some are spinning very slowly and others on a fast low speed. Fan no 1 Fan no 2 Fan no 3 One of the many Banvil Silver Lines At the back of the store, there's a portion of the store that has a much lower ceiling with this bladeless Banvil Silver Line. THe motor is still spinning without blades on. It wasn't always like this. I remember seeing it in the 2000's with it's blades on. Enjoy! That's it for 2018. Seeing how the interest for sightings has dropped, I might not post as much in 2019 unless you ask otherwise.

the early canarms are a cool sighting! very nice to see them around! I'm surprised that a Rona still have them. They usually renovate their stores often.
