Here are the sightings for April. A clothing store in downtown Montréal has three of these antique brass late 1980's, early 1990's Nadair GE vent 107 cm. They have cane blades, all of them are installed with the cane facing the ceiling. The 3rd fan, the one I did not photographed, was painted over in gray. Fan no 1. Notice the cane. This one was off. Fan no 2 has a bent bracket. It was on what seem to be medium speed but doesn't wobble. Enjoy and comment! I absolutely love the contrast between the fans and surrounding colors! Here are the sightings for May. A souvenir store in Old Montréal has two of these unknown vintage 140 cm fans. The canopies are of course reversed. The motor and blade remind me of some mid to late 1980's SMC but the canopies are obviously not SMC. What are they? Fan no. 1 Fan no. 2 Is is possible the canopies are replacements? One of the two brown Canarm CP56 at my local bank that used to have two early 1980's 4 Saisons 120 cm fans with four straight metal blades. Those fans got removed in 2011 and replaced by these. I posted the 4 Saisons fans before in this thread in 2010 a few months before they changed them. While sad, the new install is still neat. A black and white Canarm from the mid to late 1990's in a friend's chalet in the region of Lanaudière, Québec. Were these sold until the late 90s? If so, one that new has yet to surface around my neck of the woods... Here are the sightings for June. I posted bigger pictures. Let me know if you prefer the bigger or the medium size ones. A Provigo grocery store, that wasn't too renovated and kept it's classic 1980's style has six fans in it. Four vintage fans and two replacement from the 2000's. One of the replacement is a Banvil Bronze Line and the other a Canarm CP56. Three of the vintage fans are these early to mid 1980's Nadair 140 cm. I was finally able to photograph this Nadair model that I have never posted here before, at least not in this size. They also exist in 90 cm. The large ones uses the same blades as Canarms from 1983-1989 but with a flat Taiwanese made motor. Here are below two different ones. Fan no 1: Fan no 2: The other vintage fan is a Hong Kong made Banvil Orange Line: I personally don't mind the larger pictures...the more detail, the batter, Jean That looks like quite a neat building. Is keeping older décor something Provigo is known for? An unknown 120 volts brushed nickel hugger 107 cm from 2008 installed in a friend's RV. All the three speeds are very fast. Someone knows what it might be? These pop up on eBay occasionally, under various names. They seem common in higher-spec RVs these days. My local Bureau en Gros has a few of these Canarm 140 cm from approx 1993-1994. This transitional version with the single line on the blades and the slightly thicker motor was made pretty much exclusively in 1993 and possibly 1994 too. This is one of the cleaner ones. Some are filthy and yellowed. This version is pretty common is various large stores in my area. I have a 1995 Canarm CP56 in my collection with blades identical to what's pictured here, though the motor is the reduced-size variant. Do you know if Canarm, at any point in time, officially offered these with the single-line blades and newer motors?

I'm pretty sure it's the original canopies on these spinners. They are just in the wrong place. I later found out these fans are Nadair.
At least they choose other brown fans which I found intresting that they wanted to keep this detail as the 4 Saisons were brown too.
Réno-Dépot sold these black and white fans with spotlights till 2001.
Since about 2015, all Loblaws have been converted into Provigo so no, Provigo do renovate their stores but what's intresting is that their stores are rarely the same from location to another. They have a lot of different formats of stores.
Unless you have another that was never shown, the 1995 Canarm you have have three lines on the blades. I'm pretty sure the single lines ones always have this motor with the gold line not centred around the side of the motor. I believe the other way around exist though. This motor with the blades with three lines.

Here are the sightings for this past July. In Montréal: In the administrative office at a friend's condo, there's this awesome 1981 4 Saisons Classic 107 cm. The condominium was built in 1982 which makes perfect sense with the age of this fan. Unfortunately the blades are installed on the wrong side of the brackets. The original 5-speed controller was present but I could not get a picture of it. This was take during the insane heatwave of early July with heat index reaching an insane 46°. The air conditioning in that office was not so good. I was wonder the whole time, why do they not turn it on. I have exactly the same fan except mine has a plastic upper canopy. We can see a part of the sticker on the left side of the lower canopy. An Asian restaurant has about three Canarm CP56. Notice how the variable speed control is on the ceiling next to the canopy. AI haven't seen that in a while. It was a practice I would see more often in the 1990's. They keep the knob set for low and turn them on/off by a regular switch. Hey, at least the speeds are changeable if you really want to. I didn't notice if each fan have their own controller or if this one controls all the fans in there. A supermarket has multiple mid to late 1980's Banvil Silver Lines 140 cm. A different one. A different supermarket near my place that opened in 2014 has multiple Canarm CP56. In a section of the store the fans were on low and in another section most of them were plugged as you can see below. Long before that place became a supermarket, there was an unknown brown 3 metal curved blade 140 cm spinner in there. It had a classic bell canopy, a short pole and the motor was thick with a rounded bottom. This fan was removed around 2005. In a section of the store where the ceiling is lower, there's this Hampton Bay Industrial 150 cm. It's the only one in there. It's in this section of the store that was installed the unknown brown spinner long ago. At this time, this section had dropped ceilings. I remember that some of you were suprised to see that some Home Depot have fans installed away from the regular fan display where they are occasionally functioning. Here's an example at my local store with these two Hampton Bays. They are not on this time but I have seen before some fans installed there spinning such as a Hampton Bay Pilot, Hampton Bay Southwind V and Hunter Augusta II. The fans installed in this section change very often. Hampton Bay Middleton 107 cm Hampton Bay Luxenberg 90 cm Region of Lanaudière: At a camping in Sainte-Julienne, an on-site boutique has a mid 2000's Super/Airworks Rotin 107 cm painted over in white with the light kit omitted. It seems it was pushed accidently for being so crooked. In Rawdon, in a camping, sports, outdoor activities and fishing equipment store has these two awesome 1984 4 Saisons Montego, the rare version in 120 cm. They were originally either white or brown. At least they did not painted over the brass brackets. They were both on low speed so excuse the terrible photos. It was my first time seeing this model in this size in person. The other one: Enjoy and comment!

Interesting sightings; the condo install looks really nice.. Beside the computers, this office looks so 1980-1990's. The Super/Airworks is a good example of a post early 2000's cane bladed fan as we were discussing in other posts. Too bad it was painted over because this model is actually polished brass with oak blades rather than all white like today's cane bladed fans.

Here are the sightings for August. Sorry for the delay. A fondue restaurant in the western tip of the island of Montréal has this very cool and uncommon 4 Saisons Victorian 132 cm. The date in unknown as it's an odd transitional model that has features of both pre 1986 4 Saisons and 1986-1987 models. It has wider blades, tight wave cane a plain sideband and a chunky switch housing like on pre 1986 models but it uses the new sticker, wooden pull chain rather than tassels and the finish on the blades is a printed oak motif rather than teakwood. Next to it a grocery store has multiple Canarm CP56. These would date from somewhere between 1995 to 2011. A Subway restaurant near it has a few antique brass Canarm Grand Builder from the 2000's. Finally, here's a much better picture of one of these two brown Canarm CP56 at my local bank with the high vaulted ceiling that used to have two brown 4 Saisons with four metal blades. A restaurant in the Village, that I went to in March 2017 with two or three Hampton Bay Industrials, closed recently. The fans are still installed. Here's a different one from the one I posted in March 2017. A local hardware store, the one with the 4 Saisons Industrial 90 cm with four metal curved blades that I posted before in July 2009, started liquidating in August and by now are closed. The last time I went to check the inventory, the little fan was still there and on high speed. The blades are much dustier than they were in 2009. In the basement of this store I also found an uninstalled antique brass Nadair GE vent with four oak and cane blades and pretzel from the mid to late 1980's. I'm not sure if it was for sale. One of the blade arm was broken. I have their phone number in case I want to call them about some of the inventory still inside the store. I didn't asked for this fan because I already have one exactly like it. Here are new pictures of it and a short video, notice the stick on the lower canopy: VIDEO:A small shopping in Pointe-Claire (Montréal) built in the late 1950's has various cool fans installed in common area and in boutiques. Many boutiques have a low dropped ceiling with Banvi Silver Lines installed in them. Some even have the upper canopy hidden above the dropped ceiling since the ceiling is so low. Here are three different fans from three different boutiques. No 1: No 2: No 3: A rather uncommon late 1990's to 2001 Landia semi-spinner 90 cm in a different boutique. A late 2000's early 2010's Westinghouse Xavier II 112 cm in a jewelry store with the canopy above the the dropped ceiling. A small hardware store inside of that small has a few 1993-1994 Canarm CP56 with one line on the blades. A shoe repair shop has this cute Nadair spinner from the late 1980's with rounded tip blades. A childhood fan of mine. They also exist with pointed tip blades. I would love to find one in polished brass. Canarm and Banvil each had their own version of it. Canarm called it the Montego. A newer section of the mall has Canarm CP56 installed in common area and in some of the boutiques. The ones in common area have a white line around the motor which suggest that they were made in late 2011 and on and the ones in the boutiques have gold lines so they would probably the last ones with gold lines made around 2010-early 2011. White line: Gold line: Enjoy and comment!

It's very calm and inactive here lately. I was expecting to be bombarded with messages saying ''You should go back and get the fans at the hardware store! Save them!''.

Here are the sightings for September. I discovered that a town hall I pass nearby frequently has this early 1980's 4 Saisons Industrial 140 cm in the upstairs portion of the building. The reason why I only notice it now is because this fan can only be seen at night through a window. I usually go there in the day time. I could not get a better picture than this. I will try to get inside this portion of the building eventually. There's probably more than one fan. Some sightings in the US. A Hampton Bay Redington III installed without lights in a 1950's style diner. In another restaurant a vintage NuTone with sagging blades. I'm guess it's a Verandah Deluxe? Outside of a restaurant an unknown outdoor fan. Is this a Regency? A local IGA grocery store has many of these early 2000's Banvil Bronze Lines 140 cm. This was the first IGA location that got renovated with the new brown ceilings and new fans that I know of. The renovations were done in 2000 or 2001. Most of IGA's were renovated a little later on between 2002 to 2006. The fans are still in very good condition today. Here are two different ones. Enjoy!

There used to be an IGA around here, it got replaced by Shaw's years ago.. They never had any ceiling fans.. All IGA I have been to in Québec have ceiling fans. Before they were all renovated they all had fans too. They were usually Canarms from the early 1980's. After the renovations and all IGA built in 2000 to present have either various type of Banvil Bronze Lines or a mixture of Canarm CP36 and Canarm CP56.

No fans in the store, except for 2 or 3 canarm CP56 in the shipping / storage area in the back. This store was built to replace an older one. Main building was built in the 1970's and was expanded in 1998-2000 (don't remember the exact year). Expansion had a dozen CP56 and the main entrance had 2. Odly enough, they were controlled by 2 indepedant switches. Before the expansion there used to be a fan in the meat preparation area in the back. Removed buring renovations. Another store near me, built in 2016-2017 has Banvil Bronze line throughout the store but only over the aisles. There are no fans over the fruits, vegetables, bakery, meat sections. + 1 fan in the main entrance
