More goodies, still very local to me, from the western part of the island.
A vietnamese restaurant have four mid to late 1980's Canarm 140 cm on an exposed black ceiling. It's literally 2 km from me. How more local can it be? Hehe!

The last time I saw Philippe, we went to Village des Valeurs and they were two ceiling fans. One antique brass classic hugger with five cane blades and three lights and this 1989 AB Canarm Grand Victorian. The cane blades were there. They probably came from the same house. They were about the same age and same style. We also went to see what was at The Salvation Army and Philippe bought something in replacement of the failure with the white NIB Alaska spinner he bought in February 2013 that was broken and had many missing parts.
In a dépanneur, two 1980's Banvil Red Lines. Were they actually called Red Line or Orange Line? This one closer to the windows have it's line very faded.
The other one. It was at a much faster speed than the first one.
Next are some nostalgic pictures of my elementary school (1996-2004). I didn't went inside but I wandered around it and took some pictures through the windows of the classrooms that are located at the ground level on the south side. When I started in 1996, no classes had ceiling fans in them but later in precisely March 2000, when I was in second grade, two Canarm CP56 were installed in each class that faces the south side. The north side classes were never has hot, not so much because they face north but mostly because there's lot of mature trees offering shade that the south side classes don't have so they didn't installed ceiling fans in them. The classes did not changed much since I last saw them in 2004. The same ceilings with the same fluorescent fixtures with yellow lenses. Three long stripes per class each on a different switch. Only the canopies and poles of the fans were not yellowed in 2004. When I was in 5th grade I got a class with ceiling fans and for Halloween 2002 we made small ghosts with kleenexes and hanged on the blades of the fans. The fans were turned on the lowest speed for the Halloween party. An overview of a class:
One fan from a class.
The other one from the same class as above.
Another fan in another class.
A control. Each two fans are on one control like this.
Now for some abandoned exploration. There's an abandoned Burger King near me that has two Banvil Bronzes Lines in the game room. The ceiling is probably close to five meters in this room. The place is very recently built for being abandoned. It probably was open around 2002 or so and was close somewhere in late 2009. How rare do we hear about fast food places closing? I wish it would happen more often. Hehe! Check it out it's got the typical 2000's style. The bricks still looks new and the Salle de Jeux lettering with the monkey swinging and on the other side the Déjeuner Dès 6h30 is still in very good condition. The windows are very well covered so the inside, of what I can see, seems in intact condition. Still not long ago, there were one or two mercury lights in the game room that were kept on. They were recently turned off.
The inside. The light in the corner of the walls would have been one the mercury lights that were kept on for a while. Notice how everything seems in good condition. Only the fans have yellowed a lot. I don't know why but theses fans seem to yellow easily. The ones in the lobby of a local IGA are also very yellow but only on the motor. The game room is the only room that we can see inside. All the other windows are very well covered.

Another abandoned place very close to that Burger King that also closed around the same time, maybe a little later than the Burger King. The place is older than the Burger King though. According to the sign outside that is still there, it seem that they were selling pet/animal food. The front windows are not covered at all so the inside is in very bad condition compared to the Burger King. The back of the place has its windows well covered so they might be other fans further in the back behind the arches. At first it looked like a Canarm CP56 but once I zoomed on it with my camera I noticed that it's a Golden Fan. A later model, just like the ones I posted last December. Probably mid 1980's?
