Not that way but I would have expected to be recognized without having to say my name. I would have certainly recognized you. You must be better at recognizing people from their pictures than I am.

I've done this dozens of times. It ALWAYS goes better in person, with cash in hand. It's even better when you have tools and a ladder with you ready to go. I dont have a vehicle that can haul a ladder, so this has set me back sometimes. For example, they say "Ok", then you come back with the ladder and they've changed their mind. I want to do prevention. For once that I get to know in advance that a store with cool fans will move. I don't want to pressure them by arriving there with money and everything ready to take it down. The store is far from being emptied. Beside there's also chances that the building will be kept the way it is once emptied. That's what I want to know, what will happen to the building and the fans in there. In the case of a hardware store, I would take for granted that they have ladder S and tool S if you see what I mean. Hehe! Dont take that for granted. Even if they have them, they might not let you use them, and they're certainly not going to take you seriously and trust you to work on their building if you dont have your own equipment. The worst thing that happens is, you show up with everything and they say no. And you waste more time and gas. It's certainly worth the risk given how much likely they are to take you seriously. If you call in they're more likely to think you're a key shower.

You will never be able to remove the fans if you are not a qualified electrician, They won't let anyone working with electricity 20' above the floor.

If you call in they're more likely to think you're a key shower. They don't care what will happen to the location, soon it will not by their building anymore. There's chances that the whole building might be demolished so of course they will be careless about the building once it's emptied.

It doesn't take a qualified electrician to remove or install a ceiling fan. Hehe! I removed and installed a lot of ceiling fans for other people and they didn't asked me if I was qualified or not. I wasn't planning to remove anything myself. I just want to know what will happen with the building and the fans inside. If if gets reused the way it is now, then that good but they are a lot of rumors of the opposite.

Not very much for the past month and a half but then I've been busy finishing college and starting working. I accepted a job last month. I haven't took pictures of the fans I mentioned in April but I should be able to do it soon. A recent Westinghouse Industrial 140 cm with glossy wood blades in a friend's condo. Even though these comes with a 5-speed boxy wall control this one was on a four speed slider. The installation is very cool. It's on a tall vaulted ceiling with a mezzanine looking down. The highest point of the ceiling must be close to 4 meters tall. A metro station in town have a small dépanneur inside it and they are two small brown spinners in it. I've been looking to get pictures of at least one of them for a while but the store is so small that it wouldn't be discreet and anyway they were almost always spinning super fast. Lately they've been off. That's how I realized they are Golden Fans. I used to think they were some kind of Banvil, Union or Evergo. I've been able to get a clear picture of one from the back of the store where they are a few windows. I really didn't expected this picture to be this clear. It's very dusty. It looks smaller than 90 cm to me. It almost looks like the blades were cut. They are exactly alike. When I passed in front of the store on my way back yesterday night, they were on but at a much slower speed and were wobbling. This is a building in a building. I'm not sure if it's unique to Montréal to have stores insides metro stations but I find it cute especially because most of them have ceiling fans in them. I didn't took the metro when I was in Marseilles, Toronto and New York City. The next pictures were sent to me by a friend that lives in Québec City. I got permission to post them here. They were the two fans installed in his parent's condo. He originally send picture of them because the first one have it's speed pull chain that needs to be replaced. He needed help on how to repair it. The first one with the broken speed pull in is an early 1990's SMC 132 cm. There is Saturn stencil on the other side of the blades. I believe the glass rings are placed the wrong way. Normally the wider one should be on top. The other one, in good condition, is a Harbo ur Breeze Decorator's Choice 107 cm white and polished brass with glossy blades from the early to mid 1990's originally sold at Distributions aux Consommateurs. A catalog store which closed in 1996. We often see the 132 cm version on Kijiji but he 107 cm is a lot less common.

Some neat sightings...I really like the little Golden Fan spinner! Is there a wire or something sticking out of the bottom or is that part of the camera behind it?

It's good to read you again. The wires are part of the camera behind it. With the kind of nut theses fans have, it wouldn't let wires stick out.

And yeah, that makes sense about the wires.

Wow! Those Golden Fan(s) were the exact same ceiling fans in my cafeteria except with different blade badges and 48" blades.
