That Splendor fan is awesome for a modern fan; it's so cool!

Switch the upper canopy and blades on that Splendor with something a bit more traditional and I'm sold! I thought the same thing but for those who like spinners without switch housing, with lower canopy but also like contemporary this IS for them! What kind of blades set and canopy would look good on it? Me I wish that one of the side of the blades would have been white instead of silver/graphite. I hate the graphite color.

I was trying to figure that out actually, I just know I don't really like it the way it comes in the box. I guess just put on a bell canopy, like on those cheap Litex things from Lowes. As for blades, I guess just basic Evergo type square tip blades, like on my jab Industries. I might switch up the brackets a bit too, they hide the motor too much for my tastes. If they were just flat I'd like them better.

Yesterday I went downtown Montréal to visit my new father's office and to pick an old Banvil/Envirofan for Mike and like usual like you walk in a downtown I see tons of ceiling fans by the windows but not too much time to stop to take pics or because there too many peoples. BUT I been able to finally get a pic of one of those Kendal Studios 54''. Those are pretty popular in modern renovated restaurants branché here. There was probably 3 in that particular restaurant. I did my best but still the picture is taken from a little bit too far. There was so many peoples around me when I took this. Hey I was on Crescent street on a beautiful sunny afternoon! IMAGINE! TOURISTS everywhere in MTL at this time of the year. In a ice creme place I pass in front just next to that restaurant I saw a weird mix of Industrials. One 56'' and two 36''. The 56'' looked pretty crappy, probably a Banvil Bronze Line but the two 36inchers I never saw those here I guess. They looked just like Canarm 36'' but without the lower canopy. A little bit like a Classic Concept but with a bell canopy instead of cylinder. Sorry no pics I was too far.

Yeah its exactly like the Monte Carlo Studio. Actually Kendal does not have a name for it so that's why I call it the Studio as its the same thing as the Monte Carlo version. Its the same fan but with a different label and also Kendal offered it in different finishes than Monte Carlo does/did. They never made it in white but beside brushed pewter they use to offer it in polish chrome and they still offer it in natural iron. The little decorative pull chain that comes with it is different. Monte Carlo have V shaped pulls and Kendal round ones. This is what it look like in natural iron www.kendallighting.com/products/fans/ac8354-niSad they discontinued(last year) the polish chrome version. It looked the best in that finish!

Hello, I just came back from a trip to Québec City. We stayed in a very cute B&B in Beauport(where my mother was born). The house was built in 1845. Spacious rooms, lots of windows, 10' ceilings, antique furnitures etc. What a nice house! Unfortunately there was no interesting fans in there. Just this white 42'' bottom mount spinner above the stairs that was probably on med or high(use flash to see the blades). There a big gray sticker on the side of the motor. I'm not sure exactly what it is. Banvil? Canarm? To cool the bedrooms there is 12'' desk fans(see portable fan section) I went back to the cemetery where my grand-parents from my mother side were buried and the church next to it. I haven't been there since 2001. In the church I remembered 3 white 56'' 4 curved bladed Industrials. They are still there but they are not 4 Seasons's model. I really don't know what theses are but I know Philippe have a pic of a 3 bladed version. They look like something made in Hong Kong instead of Taiwan. The blades are exactly the same as the 4 Seasons model but the motor is different and it have a bell canopy instead of a cylinder one. Another one I was very lucky that I've been to get in there, the church was actually close but one door was not close completely. The light in the pics looks very greenish because like the church was close and there was nobody, all the lights were turned off and the windows are tinted in blue, green and yellow. In Québec City on St-Jean street there so many fans in all the restaurants and shops. Sad I could not get more. Black & PB 5 cane bladed 52'' fan in a shop. There were at least 3 like that. They are either very late 4 Seasons or some Canarms at the time they were still labeled 4 Seasons Canarm. (1989ish) We went again to the restaurant Le Retro ;D They fixed the fallen light kit on the big Emperor fan and the 3 of the little Banvils were spinning. One at the front on low and at the back one on low and another on high. Remember theses pics from my trip in December 2008? s270.photobucket.com/albums/jj89/Jean2291/?action=view¤t=RestaurantLeRetro52Emperor.jpgs270.photobucket.com/albums/jj89/Jean2291/?action=view¤t=RestaurantLeRetro36Semi-Spinner.jpg...Same restaurant. Now I took a pic of the 4 ones at the back. They are 6 of theses little Banvils in total. The 4th one is hard to see, it was on high with the light kit off on the left. Chez Temporel (flash) The row .....with its chunky AB GE Vent 52'' 1980s fans with the blades that sagg so much. Notice they seem to be variable speed! We did not eat there but we pass in front of it, I wanted to see those fans so much. Some of you probably already saw the Flickr pic:(not mine) www.flickr.com/photos/23257749@N06/2223721389/There was a restaurant with some AB 5 cane bladed Victorian fans with 5 lights and very bent down pretzel brackets. Probably some Nadairs Victorian copies. There was another one with 3 brown(or black) Canarm 56'' Industrials. I saw a LOT more ceiling fans spinning in the shops and restaurants but I could not always see what they were. Anyway most of ceiling fans in Québec City are on St-Jean street. Back in MTL I finally too a pic of the large brown 4 Seasons spinners at a bank near my place. There 3 of them. They been there as long as I can remember but I haven't been there since 1999 and surprise there are STILL there after all the renovations they did to this bank. They are on a tall vaulted ceiling so they have a special mounting(no canopy) to be mounted on a vaulted ceiling. I always thought they had wood blades(like a Commander Angel) and they actually have straight metal blades. So I figured its a 4 bladed version of this: www.vintageceilingfans.com/gulfcoastfansdinwaielectricalmfg.co.(m)ltdcec48ceilingfan.htmlThere usually on low, this time they were off.

That Chez fan is really cool! Very cool, but extremely discolored. The finish is practically gone, but it's still incredible that they're variable speed in Canada.
