I dont know how many of you have ever been to Disney's Epcot World before 2000 but there used to be a ride at epcot called "Horizons". built in 1983 i belive and it was closed in 1999 and the building demolished in 2000, here is a whole bunch of pictures showing the total progress of demolition from beginning to end, use the blue links on the left of the site to navigate around. i remember seeing that bulding there when i was alot younger as well. i read the building structure was failing and unsafe or something. if you havent seen or been there still check it out though, pretty interesting and good pics. www.loranges.com/tragedy/

I've been told there are tons of cool fans at Disney. I've never been. I will be there, in Orlando, next August.

I think you're referring to the monorail platform. there were around 2 dozen green five blade originals with big round globes, then they were replaced with green painted hampton bay gazibos, and the last time I was there they had some crappy white outdoor fans.

But what really burns me is the fact that they used to have dozens of late 60s (Magic Kingdom was built in '71) R&M originals EVERYWHERE. Except for maybe a handful, most of them have been replaced with hampton bay gazibos. they actually used the downrods and canopies from the originals and used them with the gazibos. However, in a few instances, the old R&Ms were replaced with new originals, while using the same downrods and canopies from the old fans.

I remember when going in 1984 and 1986, I saw a bunch of antique ceiling fans, I think I recall seeing antique Hunter Originals.. Also recall seeing a antique ceiling fan with a lower canopy, and thought that was quite odd, even though I was 4 and 7

Plenty of antique ceiling fans had lower canopies, for the speed coils.

If you're referring to Disney World, it was opened in 1971. You probably saw the R&M originals I was referring to.
