HELP! We have a 1974 era house in Florida, with an old Caribbean Breeze ceiling fan in the garage. Still works great, still moves the air. Unfortunately today I moved a large ladder from one side of the garage to the other and yup - hit the fan which sent the old blades whipping across the garage like deranged frisbees. My husband was not pleased as he is quite fond of the old fan. It has four blades, fairly short with the wall control. Before I buy a new one, found this site and thought I would check to see if anyone has blades for one of these old guys at a reasonable price - if so please contact me at bethy56@comcast.net

The blades of you Moss Caribbean Breeze are made of what: metal or wood? And also is it a white or brown fan. It will be helpful to know the size of your fan in inches. Usually they are 36'' or 48''.

Thanks for the reply - the blades are very short, only 24 inches, and wood. The fan is white. They fasten with 6 screws at the housing end.

It looks more like the white one but the blades are very very short - more like 12 to 18 inches - I'll take a picture and post it - we will probably replace it with a fan with longer blades, but it is a neat old fan -

Yeah these fans are great. They were made in the late 70s to early 80s (1977-1983). I am really proud of you that you want to keep your good older ceiling fan instead of buying a new one. Unfortunately I don't (my self) have any ceiling fans parts. But somes others members on this forum do.

I am such a mechanical genius - okay it actually looks exactly like the white one with four screws and is 36 inches from end of blade to end of opposite blade.

I am not sure if that link will work or not.
Hey I figure if it still works, why not keep it -

Yeah that what I tough that it was 36'' across because they never make these fans in 24''. Tip- When you measure a ceiling fan, always measure it blades to blades across instead of measuring each blades.
I believe the motor housing is still well hang to the ceiling? But did all the four blades broke?

The motor is fine, just 3 of the blades broke - I wonder if generic replacement blades would work, not sure if the brackets would match though .

Thanks for the pic it worked! Okay now I see two of the blades are okay, a other one is warped(dropping) and the other is completely scratched. They are also dusty but that's okay. I can also see that your blades brackets are mounted at the top of the blades, because the screws are facing the floor. I don't think that you can replaced them with generic blades because the brackets have a particular square shaped, it won't fit. Anyway it will make the fan to looks weird and will ruin the particular looks of your Caribbean Breeze. Also I think you should stay with a 36'' span fan because if you put blades for a 48'' fan maby it will overload the motor. I believe that when you turn On your fan it wobble like crazy? As for the dropping blade your can re-glue the dropping layer with wood glue to the harder top wood part. Yeah that's definitely a Moss Caribbean Breeze from the late 70s early 80s.

Oh two of them are completely chewed up from my walking with an aluminum ladder upright into it while it was running - half of one of the fan blades landed across the garage, the other one is shredded - it's pretty noisy and unbalanced as is!

Thanks for taking the time to reply - if we end up replacing it maybe someone here would want the old one - off to bed!

Yes I guess there are somes peoples of this forum that would be interested to get the fan if you really want to get rid of it even if two of the blades are broken.
But like I said I am sure that they are somes members that have extra Moss Caribbean Breeze replacing blades. And you can re- glue the dropping blade with wood glue.
The owner of this site actually lives in Florida too.
