I never have any luck, once the bearings make a noise, I just end up replacing them. Everytime I try to fix the bearings. I end up wasting a whole can of contact cleaner, and getting all dirty and greasy numberous of times for no results. So when I come across this problem, I automatically pull the bearings out, and take them to a bearing shop to have them match them up. Takes less time, less greasy, and between $10 or $15 more than a bottle of contact cleaner...
I never paint a ceiling fan a different color, I always leave the original color, unless needs to be painted, I find the closes color to the original..

Yeah this will be the first and last time i ever paint a fan, personally i hate painting in general. that and now i know it can screw up the bearings on a fan. thanks for the advice though, i'll try to lube the bearings one last time.

Painting fans is fine if you are very careful and do it right. Either you didnt this time or you simply had bad luck.
I hardly ever paint my fans, I prefer to leave them original. Only if they are in really horrible shape and I can make them look like new.
It's actually pretty easy to touch up the original paint on fans without repainting them.

You need a bearing puller, which you can get at home depot or lowes in the tool department. The particular size you get won't be a big issue.

Are you sure you can get them at Home Depot? When I was looking for one, Home Depot didn't carry them. I went to a shop that sells bearings, and bought one. Smaller size should work. you'll need to buy a puller, go home pull the bearings off, go back to the bearing shop and have them match the bearings up. I know it's a pain in the butt.
I lucked out when going to a flea market, I found a three arm gear puller. And pretty decent size too...

You dont even need a bearing puller, just a big vice and two large screwdrivers. Clamp the stator down in the vice and pry the bearings off.

I cringe to see it painted the wood blades were so pretty. Still your paint job looks good.

Im going to still save the wood finish side of the blades though, and have them reversable, i painted the sides of the blades that were badly scratched anyway.

Scratches can be removed with Old English. Reversible blades are cool as long as you cant see the opposite side when it's installed.
