That is a true shame! As a consumer, you have the right to be upset. However, it should come as no surprise that HD supply simply recycled an old photograph for the purposes of saving costs. In the end though, at least there was an actual product being sold... When I spoke with them on the telephone,, I was informed that it was made by Air Cool.. A UL listing of "E75795" is probably the best indicator of an Air Cool-made fan.

Nope, the box fan I have has petal blades like the regular Laskos... but the cabinet is full-size so it's deep, so it moves A LOT of air. If it has the petal blades then I'm not terribly interested in it.. Could you post a picture of the motor?
Surprisingly, this "landmark" made by Air Cool looks like it's of better construction than the current landmark/landmark plus made by SMC. Also another interesting note: this air cool fan moves 5,628 CFM on high, which is pretty good for such an inexpensive fan...but, the newer SMC version only moves around 4,200 CFM. Which brings me into another topic: Jordan, if you have the time to do so, could I request that you make a video of the fan? It would be cool to see how it performs on camera, just for comparison's sake to other fans including the current landmark model. I'm not so sure I believe the 5,600 CFM claim,, that seems a bit on the generous side..
I have done a video already,, it will be released in the next few days..

Motor in the box fan is the typical one used in Laskos of the current era but I'm telling you, Jordan, this thing moves some SERIOUS AIR!!! It may be a *slightly* different motor that's a *tiny* bit more powerful than the ones used in the cheapy Laskos and Galaxies, but it STILL moves air!

It may be a *slightly* different motor that's a *tiny* bit more powerful than the ones used in the cheapy Laskos and Galaxies, but it STILL moves air! How does it perform in the window? I have 2 modern Lasko fans,, the 3720 and the B20570.. They both throw a good breeze in a free-air environment.. But in the window the 3720 doesn't do much.. The blades just fold under any resistance.. However,, the B20570 does actually move an acceptable amount of air.. The blade seems a bit sturdier and it has the venturi.. Could you do a video on the Air King box fan? I'd be interested in seeing it run..

We're not allowed by the HOA (Homeowner's Assoc.) of our neighborhood to have any fans or window units in our window, so that I can't tell ya, although I really wish that I could. I don't really do videos of fans anymore but believe me it is a good performer

Yes,, I thought I had posted the update here but apparently I neglected to..
Good news! HD Supply customer service is second to none.. About 2 weeks ago I received a full refund on my credit card (which I was not expecting,, they only promised store credit),, AND they let me keep the fan.. I've also noticed they removed the fan from their site,, so at least they took some reasonable actions on the issue..

They removed the fan from their site in all finishes? I know they no longer stock the PB one because they only had 2 or 3 left and they sold out aftre you bought yours. At least they have Good 'Ol Fashioned American customer service! I had to call Lifeproof the other day because the charge port door on my Lifeproof fre case for my (Samsung) Galaxy S7 will no longer latch shut, and it looks like a piece broke off of it that keeps it latched. They're sending me out a brand new case for $5.95 shipping, and when you call it tells you they're from Ft. Collins, Colorado, and I spoke with a nice woman from Colorado that took care of my case, literally and figuratively! I just LOVE American customer service! I saw your video on it before you updated us here, and I would buy from HD Supply based on your experience!

I'm not sure if the AB one is still there or not,, but the fact that at least the specific one I called about was removed shows that there's actually some coordination between employees in that company..
I don't know anything about those cases,, but I imagine they're fairly light weight.. 6 dollars shipping for an item that's under a pound is unreasonable.. You can send something that's a few ounces through USPS as a First Class Package for under 3 dollars.. Pleasant customer service is always a good thing,, and so is sending out a whole new product to replace one under warranty.. However,, shipping should not be on the customer..
I'd buy from HD Supply again--but probably only for things that don't necessarily need to appear a certain way..

They just want to make sure a person is not trying to get a free case out of them for nothing, and if you don't send the bad one back, they have your CC # so that they can charge you the full $75 it's worth... funny thing is they didn't even ask me about how my case was damaged, they just said it was covered, and I called to tell them I was genuine about it after I'd filed and paid online. They're sending through FedEx SmartPost, which is where they start out at FedEx, and then FedEx hands it over to USPS for final delivery. The frustrating part is that they tell me I have to sign for it, and I'm leaving a FEDEX release form for the driver, but something tells me USPS won't accept a FedEx form, even though it WAS ORIGINALLY FEDEX. We shall see.
