Ah yes, I always thought these were Princeton II's but we all know how Hampton Bay is with names. It's not a bad looking fan, absolutely outrageous price however. I have no idea how this fan is performance wise. I like the older Princetons that look like 5 blade Park Avenues better.

They actually move some air.
My friend used to have one in his living room without the light kit. They put the light kit on a 4 Blade 42" Landmark.. This fan wasn't like Stack Motor performance but it was better than any 52" fan you can get now a days from Hampton Bay, Hunter, etc.

Was it quiet? Also what company manufactured these Princetons? I know SMC made the Park Avenue Princetons.

It was very quiet. He didn't have A/C either and that fan would help cool the room down in the summer! I honestly don't know who made them. Its a shame, he moved out and surprisingly another friend of mine moved into that house. He took out all the fans in that house. Not that they were vintage but they were decent old school Hampton Bays and Northman Huggers. I got one of them though

I know they've been around for a while but lets face it, it's like everyone thinks they don't even need a ceiling fan anymore because they have an A/C. As a result you don't see as many ceiling fans anymore. Especially in public places, it's like as soon as a place remodels, the fans are always taken down. Did you get the Princeton when they removed it? Did they throw out their fans of sell them?

I agree completely I hate A/C for that reason!
I did not get the Princeton they sold it at their yard sale. He offered me the two landmarks in the kitchen but I was too busy working and enjoying life at the time to have the time to toy with them.
I wish I got them but you live and learn.

I feel the same way about A/C's as well. I honestly think that A/C's and fans work really well together, the A/C pushes out cool air while the fan circulates it around the room. Unfortunately not everyone knows that, so they just think because they have an A/C there's no need for fans. Which really sucks. Another thing a lot of people don't really know is how fans can help with heating as well. I wish it was better known, because we would see more ceiling fans in public places like the good old days. What kind of Landmarks were they? Like the ones they sell today or one of the older ones?

Fans can significantly improve the performance of both heating and air conditioning systems.. Many air conditioner manufactures even recommend the use of a fan..

I think its a pretty nice looking fan,, however as always I would have liked to see more traditional irons on it, say pretzel irons would look real nice.. As far as the performance goes, if I recall correctly it was given a 'Comfort Rating' or A or B, so its probably reasonably powerful
This is true. It amazes me how some models like a Hampton Bay Princeton I saw sell NIB in $150 but then a Panama goes for $33 NIB (XLP 4 speed) its crazy how ebay works. Cheese I wish I knew about that Panama listing! That's what happens when you work with sellers that don't know what they're selling.. Someone makes out, sometimes its in your favor, sometimes not..

We don't use our A/C but we have a fully redone basement which is cold and I have two Hunter Bayports and a Minka Aire Supra 32" down there that make it COLD! They were 42" 4 blade ones similar to the last generation with the Panama vents that we are all used too. I have pictures of them somewhere in an album I'd have to take pictures of the pictures I guess to get them on here. I'll use mine on the occasion, but I mostly just use my ceiling and portable fans. I don't mind Bayports, they're kind of like a 4 bladed Beacon Hill without the light. However a bit too modern for my liking. You mean like this one?

With the heat on as well of course. I really wish more people knew about this. Well if I find one for the right price I might consider getting it then. I do like the lights on these as well. I wonder what they would look like in just white. I would much rather have the older Park Avenue version though.

I have a soft spot for Bayports as they are one of my favorite fan models. I don't find them to modern just a tad less traditional with those blade irons. I have two in my home and 4 NIB I got off of ebay because when I get a house of my own I plan to use them. Unless someone ever offers to buy them at what I paid for them.

I'd love to see a brass version of these. Yeah that's kind of like me with Coastal Breeze Pluses. What did you pay for them? Also how are Bayports performance wise? I've never been in the presence of one before.

That would be pretty neat! I don't think they ever made that version in that finish.
I paid $99 each for them. Which was a little high but the performance of them is outstanding!! They are rated at 4600 CFM but they move on High and push Air. I definitely recommend them for a new fan! The Beacon Hills are great too I have three of them but they don't move as much air as the Bayports.

I have a picture of one on the owners manual for this fan. Never seen one in person though, which I really would like to see. That is a steep price, but hey if it's worth to you then why not? I have to admit, I'm a sucker for NIB fans sometimes. Do you have any pictures or videos of them? Also they sound way better than I expected, I'm going to keep an eye out for one of these Bayports. Interesting they're better than Beacon Hills sense the Bayports have 4 blades and Beacon Hills have 5. I wonder how the Beacon Hills are in comparison to a Coastal Breeze Plus sense they're very similar.
