I never minded these transitional Graytons. They are certainly better than the full-on second edition. From where did the fan originate our of curiosity?

They are definitely better than the Grayton II, I don't care for the II very much. The Grayton 1.5 was sold directly after the first Grayton was discontinued in 2001, then when 2002 came along, the Grayton 1.5 was replaced with the Grayton II, making the Grayton 1.5 only available for 1 year.

Very cool. I'm glad you got one. I love this SMC motor. It's pretty powerful. Too bad it hums. Maybe it's just the globe vibrating.
It would have been even better with a 3rd pull chain to make it symmetrical instead of a switch.

Those are odd little buggers. I much prefer the Grayton I (I have yet to find one, but I do want one) but I prefer this over the Grayton II.

It would have been even better with a 3rd pull chain to make it symmetrical instead of a switch. I'm glad I got one too. It's just the light that hums, but that doesn't matter much to me. I've been searching for this fan for a while. It would be cool if I could get an antique brass one sold as SMC. But those were only sold in Canada. Those are odd little buggers. I much prefer the Grayton I (I have yet to find one, but I do want one) but I prefer this over the Grayton II. Yeah they are. I've seen a lot of Grayton I's on eBay and Craigslist, in fact I have a Grayton I NIB as well. The only one I don't have is the Grayton II, but I really don't have an interest in that one. The only time I'd get one is if it was free. i had one but it was in ruff shape and i parted it out(i got it for free then like 2007 or 2008 year frame)back in 2005 i bought a grayson II(when i wasnt much in collecting then)for my bedroom at the time,it was ok and moved out/took it with me in feb 2006 to a duplex home and september 2006,i moved out and left the grayson II fan there and hadnt seen/owned one since. I haven't heard many good things about the Grayton II. I see them on eBay all the time. They're fairly common, the Grayton 1.5 is actually pretty decent.

blade arm bent out of place and big wobble You could've bent that back easily enough. Granted those blade arms are paper thin. Was there anything else wrong with them?

it was long ago and there is more of them out there,it's not a vintage fan Yeah that's true, I mostly like the Grayton I's due to them being a childhood fan of mine. The Grayton 1.5's I think are really good looking and decent performers. Which Grayton do you like most? Very nice fan you have there. I Hope that you enjoy it! Thanks! I'm definitely enjoying it, I might actually put this fan in my house somewhere, not entirely sure where yet, or if I'm even going to do it. But I'm thinking about it.

Very cool. I'm glad you got one. I love this SMC motor. It's pretty powerful. Indeed! Surprising considering it is only a 153X10... It would have been even better with a 3rd pull chain to make it symmetrical instead of a switch. Moving the light kit several inches should not be difficult. Home Depot has been known for transitional oddities...
