Very cool. I'm glad you got one. I love this SMC motor. It's pretty powerful. Indeed! Surprising considering it is only a 153X10... It would have been even better with a 3rd pull chain to make it symmetrical instead of a switch. Moving the light kit several inches should not be difficult. They are definitely better than the Grayton II, I don't care for the II very much. The Grayton 1.5 was sold directly after the first Grayton was discontinued in 2001, then when 2002 came along, the Grayton 1.5 was replaced with the Grayton II, making the Grayton 1.5 only available for 1 year. Home Depot has been known for transitional oddities... What are some other transitional fans by Hampton Bay? The Grayton 1.5 is the only one I can think of off the top of my head.

I remember this model in the catalogs. Certainly a cool variation, even cooler that its NIB, I don't know why it was short lived though.

It was interesting for me to finally see it in person as well. I've seen it twice outside of the catalog now that I think about it, but that's only because of my extensive research on it. Believe it or not I bought it on eBay, don't remember the exact price, but I remember it being decent. That's why I still look at eBay from time to time, although there are a ton of bad over priced offers, sometimes you find something good for a good price.

From time to time I'll look on eBay because it does have some gems on there for sure, but very rarely do I find something for a good deal.. Even if it is, the shipping will drag the price through the roof, though that's not necessarily eBay's fault..

This is one of the reasons why, I wouldn't have found this Grayton had I not checked. But I do agree about shipping, I don't mind shipping prices too much though, however what I don't like is when people add some extra money for themselves into the shipping price, or the other way around, low shipping price or free but they over price the item so much it's obvious they're just adding shipping into the actual price.

The irony is they probably think they're so clever for doing that and nobody is going to notice

I bet if the price was right on those Landmarks from eBay, somebody would've bought them by now. I actually might've bought them by now for the right price. I almost want to send them a message and tell them they're never getting that much money for them, they'd have to find a real sucker to get that much for a NIB Landmark.

You could always ask the seller a question.. "Do you really think this is going to sell for that amount of money?"

Those landmarks crack me up. Heck I'll go get a bunch of the used ones that turn up from time to time and sell them for half of what these ebayers want.
What was nice was when ebay had the shipping calculator in which you just put in your package weight and dimensions and that was the price cut and dry on shipping and you got all of that money. Now they take 10% of the entire purchase price so 10% of your shipping goes to ebay.
Sometimes it works the old way but this is how its been working lately when I sold things.

This, and plenty of other things, are contributing to the ever-increasing prices on there unfortunately

This is true. It amazes me how some models like a Hampton Bay Princeton I saw sell NIB in $150 but then a Panama goes for $33 NIB (XLP 4 speed) its crazy how ebay works.

I don't really want these fans anyways.
