These stack motor Kmart/Top Union things just won't stop dropping into my hands, every couple years I find another one. This one was really rough, lots of various paint spatter and a nice coating of assorted grime and dust. Was going to pass it up because it looked like more work than it actually turned out to be, but I couldn't resist grabbing it. I spent the better part of an evening working on it and it came out looking as good as if not better than my UIB one, although I've never done a thorough cleaning on that one before which I may have to do now. Doesn't have the Kmart pull fob like my UIB one has. Came flush mounted and with a turtle fitter which I decided to just take off altogether. Functionality is good, slight bearing whirr and in the video there may be a slight hum, but I should've used some rubber washers between the motor and canopy but didn't think of it until it was installed. The video is going live at Noon/Central on the 22 but I'll embed it here now:

Very nice Cole! I like it. Do these move a good amount of air? That switch housing is used on the regular Archive... The only difference of this is that it has Adaptair. I love them. I never noticed that, guess I never looked at them real close. I don't mind the blade irons, but I like the regular Original better.

I'll agree there, I will always like a general classic Original best, but there's also basically no variant of Original that I don't like. As long as it doesn't have a straight up Whisperwind spinner motor in it, I'll always be okay with Originals. That new variant for this year is probably my least favorite Original thus far, but I do still like it.

So if you're in the Facebook group or follow me on Instagram you know I was in Bozeman, Montana last week/weekend, so of course I hit up Gallatin Valley ReStore again as I did a few summers ago (you'll remember I got NuTone Prolines, that Sanyo thing, Homestead Universal, IT Cambridge). This place never fails to deliver. Normally I post a good picture of the entire haul when I get home, but with certain circumstances arising this time that didn't work out. What I'm gonna do is post pictures of the fans as I put them up, and on this initial post I'll cover all the extra parts and accessories I grabbed off the shelves. There was honestly probably a lot more there that I didn't get to pick through, they'd reorganized the store since I was there last so I wasn't quite familiar with where everything was in their new locations. This stuff was mostly on the fan-centric shelves where I focused my effort. I should've grabbed a bunch more generic mounting brackets from the huge stockpile they had, I was going to go back and grab more but in the turmoil of the moment I forgot since it's always kind of a mad dash for me in these places. What we have here is two NIB TAT controls, two opened? Hunter remote wall control kits (not sure of completion yet, key parts are there), spare mounting brackets (Emerson, Hunter), a new Hunter spot kit, Emerson/Sears canopy, an ancient NuTone variable control, an Emerson control, and a NIB generic 4 speed slider control. Most of this stuff was priced but I got it pretty much free since I got a package price on the fans I bought and they threw the rest in.

First fan is this NIB Tatung. Overall nice fan, it was one of the first things I spotted and it was in the cart immediately afterward. Video here:

Nice find! The ornate canopy is a nice feature! I thought these fans came with Original-style canopies?

I don't think I've ever seen a Tatung with an Original style canopy. Supreme is the only label I can think of offhand that did that on spinners.

Regarding my preference of stack motor fans over these, that is actually a stellar looking fan! Taking into consideration that is a tatung, it probably packs quite a wallop, doesn't it?

That's an awesome find Cole! I like it a lot. Is the switch housing particularly large?

Nice finds Cole! You can never have enough generic mounting brackets! This past week I've picked up a few myself.

Switch housing isn't particularly large, the proportions are kinda wacky on this thing. Andrew pointed that aspect out and I see it now myself. I was glad to find this one, there was a white one of these in a local ACE Hardware before they remodeled, along with two [what I believe to be] straight blade 4 Seasons industrials.

Next find, my first wood blade Caribbean Breeze. I've kinda sorta wanted to find one, was never a major thing but I thought this was worth grabbing while it was sitting in front of me. No wall control to be found, and the stickers have unfortunately fallen off. Has some significant finish damage in places on the motor from being moved around and set on stuff, but otherwise it's actually in pretty great condition. The blades are beautiful. This thing FLIES, definitely rivals my brown 36" Toastmaster in the speed department.
