UPDATE on the FASCO flywheel. It's on its way out, took it apart today to show my dad and it's nearly halfway broken off. Shame, but I hope we can come up with something. Here's more individuals: Hampton Bay Babiberre. Not the best little fan I've seen, but I'm remotely impressed. It's got the cuteness factor going for it, and moves decent air, probably because of the size. Low speed is too fast, but in the end it's okay. Emerson Apollo. I love this model, sad it got nixed, but I really don't like these blades that the lady purchased on it. Needs classic style 21" blades for me to really love it.

Nice fans, I may be interested in the little HB if you ever sell it. The Apollo is cool, has the K55 in it. It's an on again-off-again model. Made from the late 90s to the mid 00s, then discontinued, then in 2009 they brought it back, then it went away and came back in 2011, now it's gone again

Some Saturns! #1. Missing mounting hardware and Saturn light parts, and has nasty painted replacement blades. Works great though! #2 and #3 are basically the same, should have stepped canopies but I'm missing hatches for both. Also, neither will reverse while the fan is on, had to turn it off to reverse. #4, the roughest of the black/PBs. Despite this, it has an XLP and Perma-Lock upgrade. Lots of pitting and fading of the finish. Not sure yet, but the flywheel might be going out. Last two to come, vids will be coming up slowly as I get to them.

Where did Kiry get all these? I seem to remember a CL ad, were they out of a house?

Also, I've been told you can rig a 5/6 blade Fasco to run on a broken flywheel. I havent needed to try it yet.

He got them off that CL listing, especially after I said I was interested. Ad said it had four in the house and it actually had five. He got the black/chrome somewhere else for free I think.

A lot's of very cool finds here.
The first polished brass fan resemble to a Murray Feiss Cosmic and a little bit to a Forever Fan but more to a Murray Feiss Cosmic. It's direct drive right? That's very weird a detachable switch housing with a detachable switch cap. They really what to make sure that it will be easy to add a light kit to it. Hehe!
The Mercury looking fan looks very nice with four blades. It's got nice wide glossy blades like early 1990s Nadairs.
Wow! You must be so happy to have that Fasco considering that they are not very common in the Midwest apparently and even less in North Dakota. That's a rare model. Do you know the date of it? It must be around 1990-1991. Of course it would have been nicer if it would have been a more interesting color/finish like a blue one or a chrome one but that's already very cool. The flywheel is that fragile on theses? I read how you changed the speeds on You Tube. I did not knew this could be done by just changing some wires.
Wow! An AB Emerson Apollo! I don't like theses blades either. Not just for the blade size but also for the tips. Does the blade tip bothers you too or it's only the size? At least the finish matches very well with the antique brass finish. It's not as disproportionate as we could think.
You should really sell some Saturn some some other members that like theses fans. The very last one seems to be the one is the best condition. It's weird and annoying that some have brackets that mounts on the top of the blades and some that don't. It's looks ugly with the brackets mounted on the top of the blades.

Cole, what's the dates your Saturns were made? I assume the XLP one is one of the last ones since it has the XLP motor and newer-sounding beeps.

It's looks ugly with the brackets mounted on the top of the blades. Ooh yeah I see the Cosmic resemblance as well... Yes, direct drive. Yeah it's easy access for sure lol. It's very hard to get the detachable part on and off though, very tight. I love that they didn't cheap out on the blades on these. They're very nice quality. Yes, very happy with the FASCO. Very uncommon up here, probably one of the 10 or so stack motor FASCOs in the whole state lol, after I brought it over from Minnesota. Sticker says September of 1987. Personally I love the gray finish, on FASCOs and Casablancas, probably my favorite of the Decorator offerings other than chrome. All FASCO rubber flywheels are fragile from what I can tell, this one is breaking too. Yup, the lead wires are the actual speeds, very simple to swap on a single layer pull. No I'm with you, hate the size and the tips, needs the classic soft pointed tip for sure. The housing is small enough to accommodate this size well enough though. Didn't really get them to sell, got them to keep. This is my first batch of this many similar fans, I'm looking to keep them at the very least until I get other equally cool duplicates. I like both bracket versions honestly, sometimes I like the ones that mount on top of the blade better, especially because those came with the stepped canopy...

They're all of the same era, the XLP replaced a K55 motor. I've encountered this before, I got an older (W-11 era) IT Zephyr from Jeremy that had a new XLP in it until I swapped some motors around. Black/chrome is May 14, 1987 (592nd fan) Black/PBs in order: March 20, 1987 (957th fan) May 22, 1987 (376th fan) May 29, 1987 (606th fan) March 7, 1988 (828th fan) March 7, 1988 (838th fan)

Hmm, interesting. My Saturn which dates from February 11th, 1988 has the older style blade mount. So mine was one of the last ones made that way before they changed the brackets. Or where ever the original purchaser got this from must have had the early style blade set left in stock and they were purchased with the fan instead of the newer set.

Yeah, I found the overlap very interesting here. There are so many close to each other time-wise, but the brackets don't match with that. It's almost like the 1988s had the top mount brackets... All the others are 1987s and have standard brackets. If not, there was a huge overlap in the use of each blade arm between those two years.
