I think I'll order some of those fans next week.. Not sure how many yet..
I love that Lakewood! How much did you pay for it?

I found the Lakewood on Craigslist, there were 2 of them for sale, it was only 10 minutes away from me, it was the same seller that was selling some vintage fans a few years ago as well. Long story short, I met another fan enthusiast and we were talking a little. We agreed to $25 for the Lakewood, and he asked if I was interested in the Tatung for free, so I took it. It cleaned up nicely and just needs oil.

I bought the remaining two of those NOS Honeywell fans.. I'm glad they ended up in the hands of a fellow fan enthusiast. Could you post pics when they arrive?

They arrived yesterday,, and I took a look at them when I got home from work this afternoon.. I was expecting to just pull them out of the box and use them.. Ha! Silly me! What was I thinking!.....
One of the motor housings is all cracked,, unfortunately they were shipped in the original boxes without any packing materials.. The other bummer about that is the boxes got all jacked up.. The other issue is the fans must have been stored in an area that had drastic temperature changes because the parts are all warped.. The bases have about a 1" bend to them and therefore don't sit stably on a table.. And the blades are all warped and don't move any air.. Ugh! I really hope the day comes where I buy a vintage fan and its just in good, working condition!
I'm attempting some damage control now.. I heated up one of the blades and put some piece of granite on the ends to try to get the warps out.. I'll check back later tonight to update..
It's such a shame they're in this condition--I can tell they're really nice fans.. The motors are absolutely silent,, not the slightest of hum to them.. And they run real smooth too..

Sorry you got the bad ones, I wonder if they were at the bottom of a palate being crushed by the others on top of them. As far as shipping, I asked the seller if they would be packed inside another box. I'm glad you're trying to save them, but I would definately contact the seller about the condition of the fans. You certainly entitled to at least a partial refund.

Was yours totally fine?
I haven't had good results with fixing the blades yet.. I heated up one of the blades last night and immediately put blocks of granite on the edges while it was cooling.. After sitting all night, this morning I took off the pieces holding it down and it was almost back to normal.. Unfortunately after being on the fan all day, its beginning to warp back to its original defective shape.. The plastic seems too flexible and elastic to correct.. I may just pack the fans back up and let them sit on the shelf as collectibles..
It's such a shame.. I was really excited to use these fans.. Now its just turning into one of those things that's more of a headache than its worth..
I contacted the seller last night and I got a reply promptly today.. He is willing to work with me..

That's so annoying. I was debating to go for one of them, kind of glad I didn't get one now as it could have been a bad one. But there is another fan I am thinking of going for on there right now...

Mine has no damage at all, and runs smoothly. I wonder if you could find a replacement blade somewhere.

I discussed with the seller and he agreed to refund me $15, so I more or less paid for the cost of shipping to get the fans plus a dollar two, which is unfortunately all they're really worth..

I was going to get a Vornado Traditons oscillating fan, but wasn't sure I wanted to pay for it with the shipping cost. It sold so that's that. They don't turn up very often.

As for the Holmes fans,, after sitting for a day or two, the blade I corrected is right back to where it was before I started.. Since the repair doesn't hold,, I think there's little hope for fixing those blades..
I tried searching for replacement blades, and it seems like replacement 12" oscillating fan blades in general are just non-existent.. I don't know what to do with the fans.. Without stands and without blades they're just so useless.. Even if I somehow found replacement blades, I'd need replacement stands also! These unfortunately have turned out to be one of those things I regret buying..

I recently found a Vornado Traditions heater,, it's certainly unlike what Vornado typically looks like..
