I think there were still Hampton Bay Landmark GE vents with cane as late as the mid 90s.
I wish they still sold those Encon spinners in the US. I had a look on eBay and the only ones were in Germany and it would cost hundreds to buy it and have it shipped over. If I ever find a 30" Princess I'd get it. I've seen a few of the four bladed larger one at Habitat Restore before.

Neat thread, I hadn't seen this before. When I was a kid, my grandma bought me an Advance alarm clock. It has a red LED display and that's the one I still use every night. I don't need an alarm to wake up, so I don't use that part though. My parents have a 2005 or so RCA/Thomson alarm clock radio with green LED display. They don't ever use the alarm or radio though. That one replaced a 1980ish Emerson flip card alarm clock radio. I wish they still had that one, but the clock stopped working. It was woodgrain and chrome with the flip card style clock that had a yellow colored backlight. A few years ago I kind of started collecting alarm clocks and radios. I have a GE analog alarm clock from probably the 60s or 70s I got at Habitat. Unfortunately the backlight was burned out but the clock and alarm work perfectly. Sony Dream Machine alarm clock radio I found at Goodwill. It has a silver aluminum casing and indigo blue backlight. It has the AM/FM radio and an aux input cord that stores underneath. There is also a display for the room temperature and it has 5 nature sounds that it can play. There is an external antenna wire that has a sensor on the end for the temp display. It also has a time projector that shows the time in red on the wall or ceiling. A cheapo Onn (Walmart) alarm clock radio from Habitat. It's black with large LCD display which is kind of nice. It has an AM/FM radio also on it, it sounds decent but nothing great. Overall the build quality is cheap but it's not that bad overall. Sunbeam alarm clock radio. This one also is black and has a red LED display, and what's cool is it also has a night light that uses a small flashlight bulb, with the switch on the back. It is supposed to have a light that flashes on the snooze button when the alarm goes off, but the tiny bulb is burned out and I don't know what kind it uses. Emerson bluetooth alarm clock radio. This one is black and silver and has a blue LED display. It has auto time set (there's a battery inside and it's preset to the time and date from the factory). It also has a blue LED night light that you can turn on and shines around the bottom which is clear plastic. This one only has FM, no AM but it does have bluetooth so you can pair your phone and use it as a bluetooth speaker (also has buttons for play/pause and changing tracks). There is also an aux jack and a USB charging jack on the back of it. I got this one at Walmart. RCA/Thomson alarm clock radio from 2006. This one is white and blue and has a round LCD display with indigo blue backlight. What's neat is it can display the time in either digital format or show an analog clock on the display. Unfortunately when I got it at Goodwill, I didn't notice something is wrong with the speaker. It works but the radio is very very quiet even turned all the way up and the alarm is too. I used to have an 80s GE woodgrain clock radio with red LED display someone gave me. But something was wrong with it, the radio would play but the time wouldn't stay set no matter what you did. So I don't have that one anymore. Finally, I have a GE/Thomson alarm clock radio with cordless phone from 2006. This one has a white on blue LCD display and is silver and black. The phone handset has an LCD display with green backlight and caller ID, it's 5.8 GHz. The AM/FM radio has stereo speakers with metal mesh grilles but honestly it doesn't sound any better than most that have just one speaker. It also has an input jack for an MP3 player or phone and headphone jack. I found this at Goodwill for $5 and it had a brand new battery in the handset. When the phone rings the caller info shows on the clock/radio display, and it also can set the alarm clock time from the caller ID info when it receives a call. If you turn on the phone the radio mutes and shows "Phone in Use" on the clock display. Generally I don't like to use clocks with blue backlights at night because the blue light causes issues with melatonin, which prevents sleep. That's why I prefer to use red or green LED clocks at night. I don't know why so many of the fancier clock radios use blue backlights or blue LED displays.

That Hunter display setup at Costco is interesting. Haven't seen something like that before.

Wow! Congratulation on finding that rare four blade Holmes pedestal fan. I love these. I remember seeing them at La Baie around 1999-2000 along with the two five bladed pedestal fans they sold and many other Holmes models. I see you started adding pictures to the galleries again. Holmes was still selling that 5 blade stand fan with the swirl base up until now. Unfortunately I think it has been discontinued because it's no longer on their site as of recently, and on eBay and Amazon the prices have gone up.

Neat! I didn't know they made those Holmes box fans with the flower style blade. The ones I've seen have the Toastmaster like blade. I've actually seen them in person before, in my elementary school one of the teachers had two of them in her room in addition to a 12 inch stand fan. Does it have the same motor as the ones with the regular blade?

Last time I went to Walmart, before the virus, they didn't have any on display. But I think it depends on the store. Another I went to earlier this year had a few out but they were way up high and you couldn't really feel any breeze from them.
I think by floor models it means the fans out on display. I haven't ever seen any display models on clearance at Bed Bath and Beyond, but maybe I just didn't go at the right time...

Those look very nice! One thing I did think of though, on the polished brass one in the garage, you might want to have that in an area that is more controlled to temperature. Sometimes finishes like that tarnish in areas with temperature change or humidity. Not saying it would, but just something to be careful of.

I do wonder if Casablanca does go away, what about legendary fans like the Panama and Stealth? The Panama has been the high volume seller for lighting and fan stores. Then the Stealth being the first modern style fan and they have been trying to keep it up to date with new finishes and DC motor, etc. Could those two just disappear? I guess that's the way it's going. Stores aren't going to keep selling the Panama if it's junk, it hurts their reputation if people buy them and keep having issues. At this point they might as well offer fans like the Supra or Edgewood, etc, since they have better quality control from the sound of things.

I just remembered if it could work there are a couple bronze XLP Plus Hollistons on eBay with uplights and Intell-itouch. 60" is probably a little too big for a bedroom though.

I do rather like the looks of the Mill Valley, good to hear they've been good.
It makes you wonder what Hunter plans to do with Casa. I read an old thread on here from 2004 and people were upset with what was happening back then with Casa even then, and how the XTR motors were coming on more new Casas than with XLP, and everyone basically predicted the end of the XLP motor fans about 10 years before it happened.
Too bad on the DC motors, I do know that the Emerson DC motors tend to be better. I personally think Hunter should go with flywheel DC motors like Emerson has on a few fans but it won't happen unless they drastically change the models. A lot of those fans on eBay don't even have a model name listed even. In fact these XLP Panamas are not really even listed under that name. Although to me there's nothing about these that seems to be a frankenfan. I'm even seeing Casablanca fans listed as Hunters.

I see a bit of Summer Breeze/Eastern Shore/Passport III styling in the motor housing. If it's a 2001 it should be a very good fan.

The Frysts to me are nice looking. I would've preferred the vents to look more like an original but they sort of look like some of the Sears Lasko TOC as far as that goes. I may get one just since they're unique and cheap. I don't expect it to be a powerhouse but they are pretty decent for the price.
I was also going to recommend the Supra but I know you're already getting one for another room.

That seems to be what I was reading in reviews too. I'm thinking of ordering it just not sure on the maiden bronze finish. I looked at the light kit on Home Depot's site and up close it looks like almost a rusty bumpy finish, so I don't know if I would like it. I was thinking it was more just a regular brownish color.
I prefer the older Panama II fans as far as the switch housing shape and that's another thing I kind of don't like about the Panama XLP is they don't have a way to use pull chains without modding it unlike Hampton Bay, etc. Although my brushed nickel XLP still seems really good quality.
It's too bad the newer direct drive ones have issues. I do wonder if the DC ones might be better as that may be more their flagship model now.
